More, from JSO:

At his pro day measured in at 6-1 3/8 and impressed scouts with a 4.47-second 40-yard dash, 38-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot 10-inch broad jump. Dorsey has been training with NFL players in Atlanta. Dorsey only caught 18 passes last year - mostly because the Terrapins used three different freshmen at quarterback - but he averaged 17.3 yards per catch. The year prior he caught 45 passes for 573 yards.

Maryland lost 5 QBs to injury last season and ended up starting a freshman linebacker at QB for the last two games. Dorsey is a good kid but IMO he won't hang on.

Works for me.

Watched it the first time and thought WTF, a one play highlight reel?
Then I rewound and watched the first 8 seconds 10 more times and I decided I was cool with it.
Both seventh round WRs have exceptional physical ability for this late in the draft. Both will need work, but that is the nature of the seventh round. Neither will be unhappy about playing special teams. Either will be happy to kae a practice squad. Both have the potential to become much Better than they showed in college.

The point of these seventh round picks is to tie up what would otherwise be UDFAs. They only make the squad if there are injuries or a very weak position.

Again, the theme of the draft seems to be good players hiding on bad teams. Only Lacey was a star on a top flight team. No, I don't think UCLA was a top flight team.

Packers seventh-round pick Kevin Dorsey has plan for success

Kevin Dorsey had already graduated with a degree in economics in 2011, and shortly after, met with athletic director Kelly Mehrtens. She was looking for ways to involve student-athletes more and made a proposal to Dorsey: an internship in her department, with the goal of developing the gifted and goal-oriented into school leaders.

"And you know how sometimes you say that to people. ... you never heard back from them? Exactly," said Mehrtens. "Well, Kevin called the next day to arrange our first meeting."

Dorsey sat in on planning meetings, listened in on NCAA conference calls and contributed to department documents. Mehrtens' message was simple: "Lead where you are."

As Mehrtens got to know Dorsey better, they discussed his goals: To trade on the stock market, own his own business and to do something for the community. One topic in particular sparked Dorsey's interest.

"We talked about how kids don't learn conflict-resolution skills," said Mehrtens. "With Xbox, the rules of the game are already there. But back in the day, kids had to resolve their own differences. The tree over there is out of bounds. Or, are we going to play touch football? One-hand or two-hand?

"That's problem solving and conflict resolution. And those are the kinds of deep conversations Kevin and I would have."

Always nice when the rookies come in and you know they'll be all right even if football doesn't work out for them in the long run.
