Back to the regular line up. Molitor, Yount, Cooper, Simmons, Oglivie, Money, Thomas, Moore, and Gantner it ain't.
2 runs with out a base hit. Walk, walk hit by pitch and 2 sac flies.
Burnes is just not as consistent as he was the last couple years. Good game, mediocre game. Good pitch, bad pitch.
Thread title doomed them.

He wants to get paid. No matter how professional these guys are, when you are looking at 150 million over about 6 years but haven't gotten it yet, it's bound to be in the back of your mind at all times.
Don't you dare to do that.
The Brewers are one of the worst offensive teams in the league, but they are likely to get into the playoffs because of pitching, defense, and Craig Counsell. Their offense seems like 9 guys that play like Jim Gantner and Charlie Moore.
The only runs they scored tonight were without a hit in the second inning. Walk, walk, hit by pitch, sac fly, sac fly. They had one extra base hit against a starting pitcher with an ERA of around 5 coming into tonight.
Yelich has been really struggling the last month plus now. He has 6 extra base hits in his last 108 at-bats. 1 home runs and 5 doubles.

He still pitched good enough to win. This team just can't score runs. No power and no next hits. The offense puts so much pressure on the pitching it seems like every inning is a high stress inning for the pitcher.
It's a miracle they have the record they have when you look at the two guys they were counting on the most, Tellez and Adames, have been so bad Tellez can't get off the bench. I realize Caratini caught tonight for Burnes which makes Contreras the DH, but Tellez has had a pretty permanent seat next to Anderson the last couple weeks.
Gantner with a 274 lifetime average and Charlie at 261 would look real good with this team
I wonder if ammo is still planning on having this thing clinched before the final series?
You goddamn well better believe it buster!!!!!
Hubris usually meets Karma and little Eeyore’s are the offspring.
In July, Yelich played at an all-star level and that's what provided the offense. His slugging percentage has fallen off a cliff since August 1st.
Since August 1st, Adames has been the barometer for the team. In games where Adames has at least one hit, the Brewers are 15-1. In the games where he is hitless, the Brewers are 2-9.
Yelich has still been a big improvement over the last couple seasons. Yelich has dropped off lately but he's not the reason the offense is struggling. He's done his job with 69 RBIs and a .364 OBP from the leadoff position.
The real drop off has been Tellez and Adames. Adames only hit in the .230s last season so he's not going to be as good as he looked when he first got here but he did drive in close to 100 RBIs last year. I question how much impact Adames really had in those 15 wins. Had those two guys had decent seasons this division would be wrapped up.
Another jostling of the batting order.
Some fan base the Pirates have, Grindle, on the radio broadcast said less the 10,000 Pirate fans for tonight's game.
Looks to be about 500 on TV.
400 of them are Cardboard Cutouts
Pittsburgh fans are overrated, mostly by themselves. I've seen Steeler exhibition games that looked like a Pirates game for attendance. I realize many teams don't draw for preseason games but those games are the true test of a fanbase.
So B K, think I'm still rong?
Looks like Chafin time.
We're going to have Williams up pretty soon.
Andrews has an ERA of 43.20 and a WHIP of 5.40.
What is Adames doing covering 2B in that situation?
ammo did his best to have his hubris blow a 7 run lead in the 9th.
The key to my leading a life of wealth, handsomeness and popularity has always been to tamp down the hubris.

Somebody has to replace Chafin's role now that he's actually been effective.

Good point, Chafin can be Andrews' setup man.

Congrats on winning the Kanye West 'Hubris Tamping' award for the third year running!!

And to have a smoke show wife?
How about Woody though
Are you sure the Brewers don''t have Turnbow or Jeffress in for relief? They seem to make a sure win, a close call, of late.

Yes. We need to appreciate him for what might be his and Burnes' last few weeks in a Brewers uniform.
3-0 already in Game 3 of the series.
Brewers start the game with this sequence:
Walk-Walk-Flyout-Strikeout-Adames Home Run-Walk-Strikeout
Last night their first run was from this sequence:
Walk-Walk-Walk-GIDP
This type of stuff happens against crappy teams like the Pirates that gift you baserunners and extra chances at the plate. At least they are taking advantage of it.
A stagnant offense has allowed the Pirates to tie the score. With a 3 spot in the first the Brewers should have been able to add a few. Every pitcher is always in a high stress situation it seems like.
If a fan goes to a Pirates game their is no excuse if he doesn't walk away with 3-4 souvenir baseballs. That crowd is pathetic.
