I have a few concerns. What is being undersold is the task for our offense is beating two great linebackers. I believe that is what caused Rodgers confusion the last time around. The next problem that our offense faces is not a great d-line like like the Rams, It’s the linebackers who cover and recover like DB’s. They fly around like like DB’s to cover the pass and stop the run like d-linemen. Add to that the looks that they present can confuse the assessment of the defense before the snap. Sure, we beat the Rams top rated defense but this is the kind of defense that is effective against some of the best play calling. The task our defense faces is not one, not two, not three but perhaps four legitimate pass catchers. We have, maybe, two stellar DB’s. Everyone else is average. I have no doubt that we can do well but will it be good enough?

I am right there with you with concerns about the defense.  I think the two obvious keys are as always stopping the run and getting pressure right up the gut on Brady.  It is always been well documented the Brady does not respond well to pressure up the gut and he is not a running threat.  If they don't do that as you pointed out GB could be in trouble because they don't seem to cover the TE well and we all know what can happen on the run defense.

I think the Bucs defense can be pretty tough and no doubt their LBs are crazy fast but they also have been scored upon this year and they won't be playing in a real fast track.  If you look at their schedule they lost to the Bears Bears, twice to the Saints (regular season),  gave up 27 + in two losses to the Chiefs and Rams,  and 27 points to the Falcons both times.  Heck even the Giants scored on them and kept it real tight.

All that being said, I am getting really worried about that Bucs team but we will see what MLF brings on Sunday.  We are going to truly see how good he is.

In my heart of hearts what I'm hoping for is a complete home blowout like the Falcons did to us a few years ago. Our mistakes contributed to that, so let's force some Buc mistakes and pour it on. Their secondary is not as good as the Rams, though their front seven is strong.

“@FieldYates: Here’s an interesting one: veteran CB Tramon Williams is visiting the Packers, the team he’s previously spent over a decade with. He’d add some depth and insurance to the secondary if signed.”

Well, well, well. I presume, but don’t know for sure under current rules, that this means he could be signed for the remainder of the season. More veteran depth?

EDIT: More, from Tom Silverstein:

@TomSilverstein: Williams came in to Green Bay on a private jet this morning and is expected to sign if everything goes right. He will add depth and experience to the secondary and could return punts if needed.

Yes on Tramon returning punts. Might not be terribly dynamic, but you know he'd make good decisions.

Also, yes on him being the emergency cover DB.

Would you rather have Josh Jackson or 37 year-old Tramon Williams lining up in critical situations?

Some speculation from a writer that he could be taking snaps from Redmond.

You seem to have doubts every week.

Just another chance for covid.

-Rookie running back A.J. Dillon was able to practice in a limited capacity. He injured his quad in the second half against the Los Angeles Rams last Saturday and didn’t return. His participation Wednesday suggests he’ll be capable of playing against the Bucs, barring a setback

Huh, that's interesting. The Ravens also cut Mark Ingram and Bills fans were clamoring for the team to sign him. People that supposedly understand the rules said he couldn't be signed until the offseason. Were they full of crap or is there something different with Ingram and Williams?

Good call on the private jet, though. I bet Veldheer got the Rona on his trip to GB.

Ha ha! I was fully prepared to pack the exact same clothes that I took with me last week. I can't wear all that shit Sunday unless I open the windows in my house.

Williams without a second thought. He may have lost a step but him losing a step puts him in range with average CB speed.  He's heady and if he needs a little help over the top it's exponentially better than the stupid Jackson brings.

Just found the answer to this. Tramon's situation was like Veldheer. He was on the PS and elevated to the roster and cut. That made him eligible. Ingram was part of the 53 man roster.

Inside the NFL's Brandon Marshall, Phil Simms and Michael Irvin all convinced it's TB's game to lose.  Ray Lewis tried to explain why he was going with GB but got out-yelled by Irvin and Marshall until JB had to segue to the next segment.  They talked very little of the GB/LAR game and just squeezed the highlights in at the end of the show.

Don’t like Simms, Irvin is a BIG mouth and Marshall, well.

Yeah....I know....Last week, the Rams defense was the boogeyman....This week it's Tom Brady & the rough & tumble Buccaneers.

1 other thing I want to point out....The Packers played like dog shit in week 6 & they definitely deserved to lose. Here comes the "BUT"....The Bucs at the time were the MOST PENALIZED TEAM in the NFL. How many penalties in that game??

ZERO

They had something like 20 penalties vs. the Bears. You don't go from massively undisciplined to ZERO in 1 week. That was definitely a league point of emphasis for the Bucs vs. Packers in week #6.

In any event....The Packers ain't losing....Look & see

Marshall, Simms and Irvin? That’s a lot of dumb on one show. Hard pass!

The toss plays are just stupid against an LB like White.

the beautimus part of this game is that all that stuff is on tape now...so mlf will NOT do it - unlike MM back in the day, who would have continued running 'his' stuff...

Good take Boris

For whatever reason, I’m less concerned about Tampa and the game this week.   Sure, the Rams were hampered a bit but McVey knows all the MLF tricks and plays and the Rams had nothing to lose.  Donald injury or not that defense played hard and tough and GB had to earn it.

This week, it’s all about Brady and week 6 and honestly I’m not worried.  The odds of Rodgers having two awful games against TB doesn’t seem realistic and this is a different team now.  Especially on defense.

I’ve been wrong before and if the Bucs win hats off to them but I’m expecting a Packers victory.  I don’t think the Bucs play disciplined football and defensively the field conditions should negate some of the team speed advantage they have.   We also have Kevin King playing CB instead of Josh Jackson.

RTFB and get our OL to get physical and nasty and then dial up the play action when needed.

Yup, the Packers are the better team, unless any unforeseen circumstances pop up , covid, Rodgers leg falls off, etc there is no reason they shouldn't win.

The better team, at home equals no excuses.

Rodgers is the master of the cadence and that will be of great benefit too. I bet he will draw them offsides at least one time and it will for sure slow them down a bit.. Also, he surveys the field as well (12 men on the field) (and mis matches)

Applied against the Rams and applies here .... if the O-line protects Rodgers: We win !!

Doubt the Bucs will hold Aaron Jones to 1.5yds/carry again.

On defense, have a feeling the Bucs are going to try to be physical and run the ball. They have a formidable O-line and running tandem. Ronald Jones and Fournette have looked very good lately. Time to let Snacks eat !!!
