and don't know if this should get posted here, but d*mn, ALL THE TALKING HEADS ARE SAYING IT WAS A CATCH.  Ugh, I can't even enjoy the day after glow of winning.  D*mn..... and who put Trent Dilfer in charge of ANYTHING QB related??  D*mn.  Just so pissed off right now.  Good thing I taped the game, will watch it now in peace and won't watch ANY sport shows.

Back on topic:

I hope the Hags woefully underestimate GB and have the mindset that Rodgers can't do much of anything, Lacy will be a non-factor, and the Packers defense won't stop anyone. That's the mentality I'd love to see. Look past this game and dream of the SB.

This game is starting to smell of Packers/Texans 2012.

And that is why they actually play the games. To be the best, you must beat the best.

We already know that we can win against the best the AFC has to offer, now let's see what we can do against the best in the NFC.

This coming Sunday will, unfortunately, be the real Super Bowl and I am optimistic that the men in Green and Gold will win.

Yes, it is true. I have no "respect" for any team in the AFC. Play it again and we beat the Bills by 4 scores. (and 20 years)

Multiple things to say on the subject and don't wish that on anyone but that whole thing and how it's presented is dripping with opportunism.

If you want to talk about mental illness, do it.  Quit propping yourself up with "I'm so courageous" in the pretext.

MM and co need to pull out all the stops

Gonna need the rooks to come up big again and GB will have to be creative with their playcalls vs that defense and Rodgers lack of mobility. Type of game where if GB is to win, we'll need Rodgers spreading it around and completing passes to several different receivers IMO. Throw everybody out there...got nothing to lose

Rodgers will have to be like Oprah. A reception for you, and you, and you. Oh and obviously throw in the mandatory Kuhn run play

This is where you pull out a new look heavy package IMO.  Still think putting in Tretter and grinding against the fast Seattle defense has to be part of the package.  You've got a bruiser back, a great cut back and a FB playing excellent ball.  Throw in some heavy package looks for the run and see what releases in the pass game you can get as well.

yes, was wishing actually they pulled this out in the Dall game, jumbo package, tretter as TE eligible, 27 and kuhn, and rtfb sea is fast, but they can be pushed back if the right call is made.

I love the idea of going full slob. Love it. My concern is MM lining AR up in the gun or pistol every snap to reduce the strain on the calf.

I'd much rather see AR under center and Lacy / Kuhn in an I or offset I and get a head of steam going in front of the big uglies. Not sure if AR is able to do that for 4 quarters though. He didn't take one snap under C yesterday.

I'd rather see Hawk inactive. At least Jones is just quick enough to be a speed bump. If I'm Carroll/Bevell and I see Hawk in the game I run an inside counter against Slowmo all afternoon.

There were times when the line up looked a lot like the first 8, very tragic games of the season.  I haven't checked the numbers because I'm not a numbers weinie but I would be interested to see who lined up where and how many times.

Keys to the game:

-Tackling Lynch.  This is what killed them in week 1, having guys in position but unable to take down Lynch.  X factor here is Burnett, as he'll be in the box much more with Seattle's WR's not scaring anyone deep (especially with Richardson out).

-Containing Wilson.  They need to keep him in the pocket, whether that's via a spy or using a "mush rush' (term I picked up from Chad Brown and Alfred Williams here in Denver...).  Wilson is not Vick or Kaepernick; he's a 4.6 guy.  Hes not so fast that he's just impossible to catch.  He's like AR with his running, crafty and smart (although running way more than AR).  The front 7 needs to be smart too.

-Quarless, Rodgers and Adams need to step up.  Seattle's focus will be Nelson and Cobb which means the next 3 guys need to step up.  Didn't happen in week 1, which reduced effectiveness of the offense.

-O-line needs to play their best game: Gotta keep AR clean, gotta give Lacy room to run.  I'm 100% confident that Rodgers and Lacy will come through if the line plays well.

-Limit drops: Drops kill this offense more than anything.   They need to hang on to the ball.

Should be a great game next week.  They won here two seasons ago, they can win here again.

Jones' "highlights" from the first Seattle game.

17-10 Seahawks at end of second quarter:

2nd and 6 at SEA 22(:43) (No Huddle, Shotgun) R.Wilson sacked at SEA 11 for -11 yards (sack split by C.Matthews and J.Peppers). PENALTY on GB-B.Jones, Illegal Contact, 5 yards, enforced at SEA 22 - No Play.

Prevents Seahawks from having to punt from their endzone with about 30 seconds left in the half.

4th quarter, Packers behind 29-16, 10 minutes left. Prevents Packers from forcing a punt.

3rd and 6 at SEA 24(8:04) (Shotgun) R.Wilson pass incomplete short left to D.Baldwin (S.Shields). PENALTY on GB-B.Jones, Defensive Holding, 5 yards, enforced at SEA 24 - No Play.

Seattle has a good defense, but all this talk about "historically" good is hyperbole.

Kam Chancellor is a great safety, but he can be exploited if you scheme to get him in coverage. He's slow. He's basically a LB playing safety at 6'3" 240, that's why he hits harder than most safeties.

Here is the roster of QBs the Seahawks have beaten in their 7 game win streak: Drew Stanton, Kaepernick, Sanchez, Kaepernick, Lindley, Shaun Hill, Cam Newton. Those are some awful QBs (given how rattled Kaeprnick looked at the end of the season). Let's see how they hold up against a HOF QB this week.

I agree with Henry.

Lacy needs to pound them. They are relatively undersized upfront. Their back 7 is great in run support, but there should be a steady diet of 4-5 yard runs available.

Seattle is not an explosive offense. Their WRs are pedestrian and they generally don't blow anyone out.

This is game where Lacy needs to get about 30 carries and grind out 100 yards. This is a game a healthy A-Rod can win because he'll stay patient and not make stupid mistakes. We'll probably be bitching in the chat room during the game, but this is a game where you have to take some sacks on third downs rather than take risky throws because the Seahawks offense lives off of short fields.  In other words, this is a game where Favre would have probably thrown 3-4 interceptions.

No special teams mistakes and the defense needs to make them take 10-12 plays to work it down the field. Wilson taking off on zone read runs will probably play a role, but that's what Capers needs to scheme for.

If this all happens (and this should be doable), whoever gets 7 instead of 3 inside the 20s will win.

Their TE is starting to come alive though.

He's fast. Bright side is they don't have much at the WR position so GB can make him a focal point and put single coverage on both their WR's.

It will come down to how well the run D can contain Lynch and GB putting a spy on Wilson so he doesn't gash them with easy 20+ yard runs
