Just watching the replay on NFL Network.  On the 1st challenge by MM there is a ref standing on the sidelines with headphones on. It sure looked like Tripplett. Was he an alternate in case an official got injured?

Yep, I noticed that too.  It was Triplett, I thought they give out review ref assignments (basically all he does is communicate with the NFL or the booth), to refs that don't make the cut.

From
Carroll on GB: From the first 8 games to the second 8 games, their rushing statistics have flip-flopped.

Carroll on Capers: He gives coaches a big problem with different substitution changes he uses.

Carroll on Rodgers: He only threw for 316, geez. ... The great players have a way of figuring it out. He adapted.

More Carroll on 12: He looks hampered somewhat. They figured out a way to make him effective. We are counting on him to be on the money.

Carroll on Cobb at RB: We're ready for them to use that quite a bit. ...He gives them all kinds of options.

Carroll on Lacy: He runs with a great attitude, exactly like we cherish. Our guy does the same. He adds a real style to them. A big factor.

Carroll on Kam Chancellor: I don't know if he can play a better game than he did last week.

Carroll on a team not throwing at Sherman: Yeah, that's pretty rare. That's rare. ...Usually, it'd happen if you had a brand-new player.

Carroll: The ball has to go both ways. We expect that.

Does anyone remember the particulars of this hit and what is to prevent this from happening again? After all, Lacey has had more than one and Chancellor is licking his chops waiting for Lacey to try the middle again since he is way too slow to run wide on that quick defense. Believe me Seattle knows that stopping Lacey in the middle or off tackle is the key to stopping the GB offense.

Possibly the answer may be the screen game or outlet passes to get Lacey in the open field

with a head of steam going straight at Chancellor. Payback could be a bitch!!!

Another option is dink and dunk with quick release passes to get the D to cheat up more

than last time. It is going to come down to controlling the middle and getting rid of the ball quickly. Will not have time for slow developing downfield plays especially with Aaron being a bit more immobile.

Comments? Remarks? Suggestions?

If I recall correctly, that was a pretty violent hit.  Chancellor actually took the worst of it and that was the first time I've ever saw Chancellor recoil back like that.  But Lacy ended up with the concussion.

Lacy will be fine against these guys.  He can dish it too.

Watching "championship wednesday" on NFL network, and they're carrying all the press conferences for all 4 teams.....the Packers are the last to be covered.  A-12 was first, and as ALWAYS a great conference, then Mr. Peppers is on, and they cut him off to talk about the San Francisco hire.....d*mn.  I've never heard Julius Peppers during an extended interview and was really enjoying it, and they cut him off.  Oh and Aaron Rodgers sounds so much more intelligent then dimple boy, it's almost scary how he handles the questions given to him.  Dimple boy, Tom Brady just sounds so, well, not that smart.  JMHO.

its ridiculous how the media disrespects the packers. i tune in just to hear jordy, peppers, who i never get to hear, and BOTH were cut off to go to commercial - just aweful, its all football, for the most part all BS - then there's something 'live' and they go to commercial, smells like espn and the draft, when they cut away on the packers pick EVERY TIME. guh why are we even here, we can't win...  beating these yahoo's may be one of my all time favorite packer wins ever.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy spoke to the media on Wednesday afternoon. Here are some highlights:

Injury report

Limited: DL Josh Boyd (ankle), QB Aaron Rodgers (calf), G Josh Sitton (toe).

On Rodgers' limited participation:

Where Aaron is today, those are probably better questions for him. He's doing everything he can. We did a little more today than we did this time last week. We're dealing with it.

On Rodgers playing through the injury:

It's experience that he'll be able to draw from. I think our planning has gotten better through this process.

On noise level in Hutson:

We don't keep track of that. We did the wet ball drills. Try to simulate what we get Sunday.

On veterans from last Super Bowl team:

It's experience. Both teams have that. It's beneficial.

On hungry players who don't have a Super Bowl title:

It's just as important. The new guys are just as important as the older guys. The ability to grow. It's the ninth year of our program. A majority of it being first- and second-year players.

On Flynn is running the offense:

When you're going through a week of preparation, you're trying to hit targets. When we practiced today, we practiced for attacking the Seahawks' defense, didn't practice who the quarterback was going to be.

On offensive line:

I think the offensive line has been the most important component of our success. Five linemen playing cohesively is so important.

On midseason adjustments to defense:

The bye week we went through everything. I think had four, five topics that we looked at on defense. When Dom and I got together, we find three things I felt we needed to address. Dom and the defensive staff made it happen.

On Seahawks changes:

Defensively, they're playing extremely well. Offensively, there a little different. They are still running the ball well. Quarterback runs for first downs has been exceptional.

On all 53 players practicing:

Health is very important. You need all hands on deck. It's all a part of your preparation. We're taking all of our practice squad guys to Seattle.

On changes from past NFC championship games:

Didn't look at 2007 a whole lot. We practiced a lot different today than we did back then.

On Eddie Lacy:

I don't know if there's a whole lot of people who want to tackle Eddie.

On Julius Peppers:

He's the impact we were looking for. I had a chance to be around him for two Pro Bowls. Just watching him be a part of our team from Day 1 to now have been night and day. He's been an outstanding leader for our team. He couldn't have more credibility. He's made a big impact for us.

On Russell Wilson:

He's very decisive with the football. He's a crafty runner. They utilize him a lot in the run game. We're looking at his running ability as that of a running back.

A bit of gamesmanship as well as a cool gesture for the PS guys. It tells them they are part of this team and gets them prepped for next years' playoff experience. Packers are flying early ( Friday) and scouting the field / facilities ahead of time

The other reason is that MM doesn't want the Hawks to know exactly who is:

active

inactive

on the 53

on the 46  till the last possible moment on gameday.

If everybody travels, it isn't a "tell"
