Was there a game, last night? NFL Network streamed a rerun of a different game, when TNF was aired, on Prime. Competing with themselves???
Looks like they started out strong.
I watched some of it. Not much to get excited about. That “Brownie” logo stood out a lot. Not sure what it represents. A fighting elf? Kinda reminds me of the fighting Irish figure (leprechaun) I did not think there was much history in the brownie mascot. Was Keebler consulted?
I read an article about the history of Brownie the elf. Apparently, there was a brand of rootbeer with a similar logo sold in Massillon Ohio when Paul Brown was coaching high school there. It somehow propagated to the Browns when he began coaching the pros after WW2. Paul Brown at first refused to name the team "Browns" but the chosen name (Cleveland Panthers?) was already owned by someone. So Brown relented. The funniest part I read was, when Art Modell bought the Browns in 1961, he said, "The first thing I'm gonna do is get rid of that little MoFo." And he did
