Thinking of switching from cable to streaming.

Musts:  live local, Fox Sports WI (Brewers, Bucks), hopefully share subscription with daughter (and son who will be off to college next year).

Trying Hulu live TV, ok, but can't share account with daughter in college in another town.

Also, I'm a channel flipper, so just not as easy as typing in the new channel.  My wife is happy about that.

Any suggestions?  Youtube TV?  Others?

Anybody that lives in Floriduh can easily watch the Packers.  Saw this on some sports thread today.

Now that he’s moving to the Tampa Bay Packers, after 19 years with the New England Patriots, we can’t help but wonder what Tom Brady will do with his Massachusetts mansion. In all fairness, he’s put it on the market before, in 2019, asking for $39.5 million.

Not Fox (Packers).  Based upon my brother's experience who lives about 3 miles away from me.

Can you pick up the LaCrosse CBS broadcasts or are you stuck with, and I mean stuck with, WCCO out of the Twin Cities?

You can't use a VPN, the streaming services block it. (unless you know how to hack it.)

I have YouTubeTV. It has everything I need so I'm happy & Wifey's happy. (MTV, Bravo...bleccch.) PLUS live locals - 1 cool feature is when you fly from say Colorado to Wisconsin, you'll get the Sconnie locals while you're there. Just have to check-in to home area once every 90 days.

NF, HBOMAX, Prime, Disney+, PeacockTV.....Way more content than time

Cut DTV after 25 years end of May. Hey idiots....try bringing down your price from $200 a month.

They lost 7.5 million subs from June 2019 to June 2020 -- hmmmmmm......maybe this streaming thing is catching on?

I need to get off of Dishnet. Is YouTube TV on a stick?

I've got a one week trial with YouTube and Hulu going right now.  I'm leaning towards YouTube, but they don't have the History Channel.  Deal breaker for me.  Yeah, I'm a geek...

So, might just end up keeping the cable but returning all the DVR/HD boxes.  We don't DVR much of anything.

FWIW...have had Hulu for a couple years and by and large happy, although don’t get MLB Network or NFL Network....

I tried Hulu for the locals to watch games.  The lag was so bad Reddit streams blew it away.  Doesn't really matter unless you're here to talk shit.  it's like hamstringing a gamer with milliseconds of lag.

Do you have Spectrum Cable, EC ??   Take a look into the  $ 5.00 a month seasonal sports package.  Back to your antenna, give Wausau, Fox a go.

You must really love WWII history.

Sorry, history snob.

I recorded WW2 ...please don’t piss me off and ruin the ending for me.

Mussolini made it out right?

Both streams working great, no lag or digitizing.

Yes Charter/Spectrum.  Will have brother try Fox from Wausau.

Yes, WWII.  Good show last night, 70 Years after Hiroshima.  Unreal devastation.

I was a History undergrad.  Don't ask.

here's what it says on their website

ESPN College Extra
NFL Network
NFL Redzone
ESPNews
NHL Network
Golf Channel
Olympic Channel
MAVTV
Outdoor Channel
MLB Strike Zone
Tennis Channel

It's on everything, Firestick, Android, iOS, etc.

I use an nVidia Shield to stream everything. (4k & AC Wireless).

I will say streaming 4k/UHD content really cranks up the data usage. I've been right at the limit of 1.2 TB (Xfinity) the last 2 months.

YoutubeTV allows family options.

6 accounts & 3 concurrent streams

The best thing (IMO) is the unlimited cloud DVR - shows last 9 months before being deleted. That's brilliant

Fubo is another option you might want to check out (just added ABC). Agree with Boris that the DVD is what really sets YouTube apart from the others.  I'm using Spectrum Choice which doesn't give you a lot of cable channels but works well for me.

When we cut the cord initially, went with DirecTV Now which became ATT Now. They jacked rates from $55/mo to $85/mo (fuggers).

Switched to YouTube TV  several months backs. They increase from $49/mo to $64.99(end of this month). Like it a lot. Guide is customizable(put crap we don't watch at bottom), has family share, unlike ATT can pause live TV, DVR is more reliable and robust......most importantly has the content we want -  regional sports was the key (FSWi), etc.................................highly recommended.
