Baylor is going to be as tough a matchup as we have seen all season. They're long, play a tough zone, and shoot. All 3 have spelled trouble for this team this year.

I think they can make Baylor miss- but they need to dominate the defensive rebounding. They did a good job on Saturday rebounding, especially in the second had, both offensively and defensively. They do that again on Thursday they should be in good shape so long as they continue to score like they did in the second half.

I really love the way they answered the bell in the second half. It showed a lot of character. But there's no home crowd now... Time to play 2halves of basketball and get to the Elite Eight!

I did see Baylor a couple years back and that team was extremely athletic.  They also played as dumb as rocks - seriously.

I don't know about this team, but my guess is Wisconsin is superior execution-wise.

I think Kaminsky and Dekker need to be extremely physical on the interior.  I am dramatizing a bit, but kind of like, "That guy over there is Deacon Jones.  You are Anthony Munoz.  Beat his ass."

I agree with MC.  This is not a good matchup for Wisconsin.   Baylor has a lot of size in the frontcourt and they are not plodders.   It's critical that Kaminisky not get into foul trouble and they are going to need Nigel Hayes to step up in this game.

I wasn't surprised Baylor beat Creighton but I was surprised how they dominated that team.   This is a tough test for sure but at this point they are all tough tests if you want to advance.

There are several more teams named the Owls.  I know Florida Atlantic is just one other that uses that nickname.

A quick search on the Google machine reveals the following schools:

  • Bryn Mawr College (Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania)
  • Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, Florida)
  • Hellenic College (Brookline, Massachusetts)
  • Keene State College (Keene, New Hampshire)
  • Kennesaw State University (Marietta, Georgia)
  • Rice University (Houston, Texas)
  • Southern Connecticut State University (New Haven, Connecticut)
  • Temple University (Philadelphia, Pennsylania)
  • University of Maine-Presque Isle (Presque Isle, Maine)
  • Warren-Wilson College (Swannanoa, North Carolina)
  • Westfield State College (Westfield, Massachusetts)
  • William Woods University (Fulton, Missouri)

Lots of buzz out here regarding tickets for the game in Anaheim.  Unfortunately, San Diego State and Arizona are playing there after the Bucky game, and the proximity of those two schools will increase demand for tickets.

Either way, it won't sound like Milwaukee did on Thursday, but there will be a strong group of Badger fans in OC.

Hayes really has struggled of late. Seems like the game's a step quicker than he is now.

I agree that foul trouble will spell doom. They aren't very deep in the front court, so if they lose Kaminsky that will be a huge blow.

It's time for someone to go nuts. Dekker's due.

And they need to find their stroke from the FT line! Sam, make both for a change! Frank, get back on track! Those guys go to the line more because they attack the paint. Make them pay!

Read this on SI:  Wisconsin has a nearly indefensible offense that might just now be hitting its stride. The Badgers shot 49.1 percent and hit 21 three-pointers across the two games at the Bradley Center while scoring 1.29 points per possession against American and then 1.31 PPP against Oregon – their most efficient offensive showings since early January. They weren’t bad in the Big Ten tournament, either, with 1.28 PPP against Minnesota and 1.21 against Michigan State. The season average: 1.16.

This is what the Badgers need to keep doing, score score score some more.

Man, this has been a clinic so far.

I think if UW is patient enough to often have at least one pass to the inside (generally Kaminsky) on their half court offense, they ought to have this game in the bag.

Interesting that while this Baylor zone is supposed to limit inside offense, Wisconsin seems to be having a harder time getting outside looks than inside ones.
