They need to win all of their last 3, and have the Lions drop one of their last 3. I have no doubt that the Lions will find a way to lose at least one, and going 3 for 3 is very doable for the Packers if Rodgers comes back next week. I know they probably won't do much in the playoffs, but I want them to win the division.

Surely between their home games vs the Raven this week or the Giants the next, they will lose 1 of those. Either of these games could go either way depending upon how the Loins hold up against a pass rush, and the Giants would seem to be the better of the 2.

I'll predict that the Saints, Panthers, and 49ers will all clinch playoff spots, with the Saints winning the South, and Philadelphia will win the East.

Seeding would be:

1. Seahawks

2. Saints

3. Eagles

4. Packers

5. 49ers

6. Panthers

I don't see the packers winning the division (too little too late) but if they did they would probably get  SF at home?  Oh joy.

Can' imagine going in to DAL with Flynn and winning.

Best the Packers could be is 9-6-1.  Lions and/or Bears wold need 10 wins since they can't they can't tie without a tie.

Here's the remaining schedules:

Lions

@ Philly LOSS!!!

Baltimore LOSS!!!

NY Giants

@Minni-suckfest

TBSS!!

Dallas Win

@Cleveland Win

@Philly

Packers

Packers

Atlanta WIN!!!!

@Dallas WIN!!!

Stillers

@TBSS!

I think Detroit and TBSS!! certainly are capable of losing a couple of their remaining games (Well, Detroit certainly made this happen rather quickly).  The questions is whether or not the Packers can run the table(Still TBD, but more possible two weeks later) .  With a healthy Rodgers, I think it's possible, but The D will have to step it up quite a bit (Defense played a good second half two weeks in a row, hmmmm).  But I think having AR in the lineup could do just that.

One week at a time.  Let's get that first victory next week and see how things go.

Anything's possible......right??? (Right????)

Things are certainly more interesting tonight than they were a few weeks ago!

Right, but look what it took to pull it off!  An epic historical effort.  I'll eat my hat though, thank you very much.  Very proud of what they did.  Let's hope I can keep my prognostication roll going.

There's no chance in hell this team can win the last three two games, sneak into the playoffs, and then win four games on the road to bring the Lombardi back home.

Oh wait, seems to me I remember a Packer team doing this very recently!

Until this team has issued forth a death rattle, it is very dangerous. If I'm the Seachickens, I'm wanting the Packers out of the playoffs. This "they're unbeatable at home" BS is just that. They remember how the Packers came into their house undermanned,  losing only because of a terrible replacement ref call that deep down every Seahawks player knows was wrong.

When we get into the playoffs, the pressure is clearly on the Seahawks and 49ers. Nobody will expect us to make any noise, and that suits me just fine.

LS,

That is some serious home cooking analysis.

I think in addition to Rodgers (obviously), the Packers must have Cobb back in order for them to challenge at Seattle.  Plus a settled defense (Jolly healthy and Clay basically completely OK from his thumb).

I think your are severely under-rating Seattle.

Besides the Saints, who are a really bad road team, who have the Seahawks been beating recently? The last five teams the Seahawks beat besides New Orleans, and that team's record heading into the game.

Rams 3-4
Buccaneers 0-7
Atlanta 2-6
Vikings 2-7
Giants 5-8

Those teams were a combined 12-32 when they met the Seahawks.

I think the Seahawks are a good team. But I think, too, they have greatly benefited from a weak schedule.

When Aaron Rodgers went out, we were 5-2 ourselves.

I'm not saying we'd beat Seattle at home. I am saying that the Packers, if they make the playoffs, will be dangerous because they'll have Cobb and Rodgers back. And the last time we played there, with more weapons out, they needed a bogus Hail Mary touchdown to beat us.

It is possible SEA has also improved since that game, no?

I am as excited as the next guy about this team icing the rest of the nfc's cookies but this taint the 2010 Packers.  The two D's are worlds apart and that is where it is going to matter in the playoffs...IF we get there.

Ya just never know...  7 games in I thought this was gonna be one of the most dominant Packer defenses I'd ever seen.  Then they got decimated by injuries on that side.  If they can win the division all bets are off and anything can happen.  I remember watching 2010 and constantly thinking "can they really do this?" with each game.

The D has been relatively healthy the last couple weeks and they're still hemorrhaging points.  The DL used to really control the LOS earlier on but the big fellas can't get off their blocks these days and no one seems to know why.  The 2010 D was very good all year and then in January.   If this DL can get back to where they were (AR and Cobb too!) then the sky is the limit and I just don't see that happening unless Pickett finds the fountain of youth and somebody sticks an adrenaline syringe in Raji's breastbone.

I think Jolly, Boyd, & Datone will be the difference if they get better on the DL right now.  Raji and Pickett will eat space.  If we can get anything more than that out of those two than look out!

the NFL  as a whole has been hemorrhaging points.  I think I read where this week was the highest scoring week ever, 3 or 4  teams scored in the 30's and lost.

If A team with a great or even good O could get their D to only give up 28 they can go a long way in this NFL.  If the Pack can get a bit more pressure and if they can keep the current cornerback play they just could be that team.  Some big special team plays would help also.

They havn't been able to eat space.  Half the time they are not even getting off single blocks and this allows a guard or center to get at our LB's.

Picket is old and just might be done.  I have no excuse for Raji.

The rest of the NFL doesn't matter.  What matters is the other playoff teams and they're giving up under 20 a game.  SF and SEA are under 15.  I think GB scores more than 20 on anyone but I just don't have the same faith in our D doing the same.

Pickett is doing the best he can. I believe age is creeping up on him.

Raji OTOH is doing his best Bob Nelson impersonation & playing patty cake with opposing O-Linemen.

Raji looks uninterested to me.  I get the impression he's not thrilled with the scheme he's working in.  I fully expect him to take his show on the road in the off season.... which is fine with me because whatever he's doing in GB ain't good enough for the money he's seeking.

Let's not forget the D might get a bit better, if the Packers can put up some points, and the D, won't have to worry about the run anymore.  Didn't someone say, the best Defense is Good Offense.

Who knows, if the Offense can put up Madden numbers every week, but IMO, having Rodgers back and the ability to put up #'s, helps the D.

I think these last couple week you're going to see some pass rush... in that second half, Matthews, Neal, and Perry were getting through, and Daniels and Jones were steering to as well. Big Ben doesn't go down easy, though...

Pickett's been fighting through a knee injury for the past month.  BJ has been a big disappointment.  Good to see Josh Boyd making some plays.  Thought we'd see more out of Datone by this stage.  If we could get him going, plus Nick Perry healed up from his bum foot (--- and rushing from the right, Dom!), it would bode well for the pass rush.

A defense that plays with the lead can take more chances than one which is perpetually behind.  We have won twice and tied once since AR has been out.  All 3 of these games took big comebacks. Our D has not been playing from ahead since "the injury". As we will see, that will make a big difference in these last two games (I am assuming the return of 12).

Defense at least made the Cowboys settle for lots of field goals in the first half. I'm about as skeptical of a sudden improvement as I was the year they went 15-1, but after Sunday anything does really seem possible.

I truly believe the defense is going to play a lot better when Rodgers is back.  The defense has been on the damn field so much since Rodgers has been out that they are just exhausted by the end of the game.  Just look at the second half from the Cowboys game.  The Packers O didn't do anything the first half and the defense was gassed.  Once the Packers started having long lengthy drives, the defense made some plays.  They are definitely not an elite defense, but they are better than they have been playing.  I hope.  Rodgers just make the whole team better.

A Packer bar buddy was in the "shut him down" camp regarding Rodger's season.

I spent a month laying out scenarios that make the 2010 run seem inevitable. Likely? Of course not. But after sunday he's a believer.  Rodgers is probably more than half way through his peak years. Stats say he's got 4, maybe 5 more seasons if he doesn't get hurt.  Throwing a season on the discard pile because it isn't "likely" shows how insufferably privileged we can get. Guys with his capacity don't come around very often.

Teams that make the playoffs once in a while (Bears, Lions, Vikings) don't win super bowls. The franchises that regularly play in January are the ones who slant the odds in their favor.

**** happens. Lightning strikes. Low seeds win Lombardis. Especially low seeds with hot QBs.

This was supposed to be a Houston/Atlanta super bowl year, remember?

4, maybe 5 more seasons?

Rodgers just turned 30.

Peyton is 37 and playing at a high level.

Favre was 40 when he had his "Why do you even Ponder throwing there." season.

Elway was 37 and 38 when he won his two SBs.

Brady is 36 and still top 5 in the league.

I can easily see Rodgers playing at an All-Pro/Super Bowl level for 7 more years.
