Barring a complete collapse, GB will not win the NFC North but will make the playoffs. So what might the Pack do over the last 4 games to prepare for the post-season?

1) Experiment, scheme, tinker with, etc. the pass rush. Movie a Karl Brooks to DE, shift a LVN or Gary inside, come up with an exotic blitz or two but for the love of God at least try and do something different.

2) Play Cooper and Hopper. Bless em, but Wilson and McDuffie can't play significant snaps if the goal is to have a good defense. Maybe give one of them playing time but not both. They have no future in GB. Time to unleash Cooper and to learn what GB got in the 3rd round in Hopper.

3) Sit Stokes. He sucks and he won't be here in 2025. Play King or Ballentine. Pluck someone off a practice roster. Do something other than trotting #21out there to feebly try and impersonate an NFL CB.

4) Play Lloyd. Jacobs is a damn good workhorse, Wilson is a much better backup than Dillon ever was and Brooks contributes. But none of them have the break away ability of the Pack's other 3rd round pick Marshawn Lloyd. If, if, if he is healthy, give Lloyd a shot.

What else?

The Packers cannot cover the middle of the field

“According to Pro Football Focus, Green Bay Packers linebacker Isaiah McDuffie has been targeted 23 times over the last two games and has allowed 20 receptions for 209 yards and two touchdowns. On top of that, fellow linebackers Quay Walker and Eric Wilson have been targeted a combined 20 times for 19 receptions, 155 yards and a touchdown over that same time span.“

Was Melton targeted, at all, in the Detroit game? Heath made it into the game, but I don't think he was looked at either. Maybe Heath was in for his blocking ability more than his receiving ability. Melton is solid on STs.

I saw Melton get some snaps. Don’t think he was targeted though. I was hoping to see more of him.

JMO, I don't think the Packers can do anything at this point with the post-season in mind. They have to prepare for each weekly opponent before they can do anything else.

Two of the players you mentioned aren't available to play (injury): Lloyd and Cooper. I doubt we'll see Lloyd again this year, but Coop might have a shot at returning in another week or two.

Agree with sitting Stokes. It's hard to imagine anybody playing worse, but I don't know that King or Ballentine would be significantly better.

Now is not the time to experiment or tinker.

I'd support sitting them down and talking to them. Maybe that will get them to execute better.

Really, the key for the rest of the season is health.

Alexander, Doubs, Cooper, Williams, Bullard, Ballentine, and maybe Lloyd & Musgrave.

Good time for this mini bye.

I'll tell you what I can't forget. Melton streaking open in the back of the end zone on Love's last third down play when he decided to run instead of throw for the TD.

1. LaFleur has to figure out the identity of the offense.  Watson has big play ability but Reed and Kraft have to get more opportunities.

2. The secondary is in rough shape.  Hopefully Evan Williams is back.  Bullard is probably out for a while.  I guess the Packers are biding time for Alexander to return since they haven't tried to sign any street free agents or raided another team's PS for upgrades at CB.  Maybe King gets nickel reps as next man up?  Oladapo will maybe start seeing more time, too.

3. I don't envy Hafley right now. For positives, the defense has been pretty good against the run, rallies for tackles, and displays toughness. But the talent on the D for his scheme is just not there. He obviously has to adjust but the lack of pass rush and limitations of the LB group in coverage leave him very hamstrung. Clark has to continue to play at a high level (he was very disruptive against Lions).  Gary has to be dominant and someone else on the DL has step up. Who will that be?  Wyatt?  Brooks?
