...begins today against MIA as second part of a tough 3 game stretch (GS, MIA, WAS). Some good signs of the play on Friday even in the loss... but really we shouldn’t expect anything more than the inconsistency of the first half until Parker comes back. Then we’ll know...

Giannis cannot pass up open jumpers if he wants to go next level. Brogdon does a nice job going baseline drawing help, Giannis gets it about 12 feet away and wasn’t ready to shoot- after a reset and reversal they fail to score. You take that 12 footer EVERY time.

It's pretty clear watching the games that Giannis' confidence in his jump shot outside the lane is pretty much nil. The last few weeks, he'll catch it and be wide open from 15 feet or the 3 point line and he'll hesitate almost every time before shooting.

You're right. He has to catch and shoot in rhythm.

30-16 third q and now they’re down 11. 3-20 from three...

Miami just packing it in and putting a hand up on the 3. Still running 2 man iso with no adjustments. No movement, most dribble drives result in turnovers.

Middleton’s line: 7-4-2, 1-10 from the field, 3 turnovers.

Jabari Parker will help on offense if he can just be another threat to shoot. The questions will be how long it takes him to get confidence in his knee back and whether the improvement on offense will be offset by his weaknesses on defense even when he's healthy.

This team sucks... and it’s all coaching. They’re not worth watching until then...

It's not all coaching. Right now they have 4 players that should be playing big minutes on a good team (Giannis, Middleton, Brogdon, and Bledsoe). The other guys are all end of the bench type players.

Coaching is the biggest part of it, Kidd is awful, but some of it has to be put on the GM and players... they have no quality big men. They get worked inside and struggle rebounding at times. And as great as Giannis is....he cant shoot from outside, Bledsoe needs to play less like a globetrotter and be a leader, and when you see a wide open shooter or a stupid turnover chances are Middleton is on the other end of it - he's mentally weak. They would be much better with a real coach, but they need a big man too.

Giannis averages 28 ppg on 19 shots. There are plenty of shots to go around.

The lineup will be more balanced with Parker back. But there’s still something missing.

And this is the coaching I’m talking about. They talked about Miami in the telecast- they lead the NBA in hand offs. Why? They have guys who can dribble and pull up, run P&R, and big guys for lobs. The hand off is just a variation of P&R that allows the guy getting the hand-off a little jump to start the play. Then they have lots of 3 point shooters to get the reversals when help comes. Spoelstra identified a style that fits his players well, they built a complimentary roster around it, and they’re winning without so-called “Star” players. 5 guys average in double figures, and anyone can get hot. Tonight it was Tyler Johnson early, and then Dragic in the second half couldn’t miss. Then the lane opened up and it was lob city.

Where is this kind of strategic planning in Milwaukee? Why aren’t they getting the ball moving around to open up lanes to drive?

They’re not a good shooting team, so that’s not going to open the lane. They shot 4-28 from 3. 31% overall. But it was as much about the quality of shots as it was the number. They were trying to beat a good defensive team one on one. In the first half the dribble drives kept them on their heels- second half they decided to go iso. Why??? Unless you make a lot of contested shots (al a Harden, Curry, Durant, Lebron), and this team obviously does not do this well, you have to move and probe and dive.  You have to operate fast and get them spinning around to keep up with cutters because you have one of the best finishers in basketball on your team. When Parker returns, you’ll have 2.

Coaching is about preaching a philosophy that breeds winning basketball and maxes out the talent on your roster. If Miami can do it with their squad of misfit toys, the Bucks should be able to...

if no, that’s coaching.

Jeckyl and Hide continues... Giannis goes 27-20-6 with 2 blocks and the Bucks hold Washington to 41% shooting (Wall 7-22) and the Bucks pull out a close game in the 4th. Middleton was hot early, the BledShow continues to be in attack mode, and Brogdon seems to have found his mojo again.

Overall a pretty sloppy game- Bucks 19 turnovers, but Washington with a whopping 24. 8-16 from 3 shakes off their worst performance of the season on Sunday against Miami.

And from the “yeah, that makes sense” file, those same Miami Heat are getting pounded today by the Bulls...

They continue to be consistently inconsistent

Washington IMO is a much better team than Miami and the Bucks played them on the road on a back to back deal and that's usually a recipe for disaster yet they won and won handily.  Go figure!

Giannis 27 points and 20 boards wow

Owned by Miami again. Man the Heat are well coached, tough, and play with energy. Bucks are lifeless, cant imagine them as anything other than a low seed and quick exit in the playoffs.

Holy **** was Thon awful....he got eaten alive on both ends.

That’s one of the more frustrating losses yet... and Kidd blames selfish players in the 4th?

He’s clueless.

They're bad.

Parkercwill make them better- he looks unbelievable.

But in the end they’ll fail because they’re on their own. Their coach won’t be any help...

I am beginning to lose faith in this team and it's not because of the players or the lack of talent.  This is 95% on Jason Kidd.

From his idiotic "we're too young so dial back expectations" statement to his mind boggling substitution patterns to his meddling in the front office decisions and inability to motivate his players - it's clear to me he has to go.   We can't afford to piss away another season of Giannis with that guy.

Kidd became a head coach about 5 years too early. He needed to go sit on the bench with Pop or Kerr and learn the ropes. I think after the Bucks fire him, he'll resurface somewhere 5 years after that and be a LOT better.

The Bucks struggle with teams with a decent post man. They don't have an answer for someone like Whitside (Heat). They struggle with the Bulls because they make Robin Lopez look like an All-NBA player. They can't comfortably beat a bad team like the Hornets because Dwight Howard looks 8 years younger against them.

The irony is that they play the Cavs, Rockets, Warriors, Thunder, etc. well because those teams don't play a typical big guy big minutes. Henson and Maker look decent against those teams because they aren't getting posted up and either abused for a basket or having to have help in the post to set up a wide open corner 3.

They have to get a real center that can give them 20-25 minutes of NBA-level defense.

They’re shutting down Giannis for 2 games, which will give him 8 days off.

Not sure if it’s something to be worried about or not. But maybe with Kidd sending out Giannis and Middleton for 37 minutes a night isn’t such a great idea.

Kidd is a ****ing idiot

He basically ran off John Hammond who did a pretty good job as GM of the Bucks

He runs his mouth to the press blaming players

Now he's running Giannis into the ground

They need to can that guy quickly before he destroys the franchise

Rumors are that the Bucks are thinking about bringing Bogut on after the trade deadline if they don’t make a deal. Considering what it’ll take to acquire Jordan, and how the Bucks really don’t have assets that they’d be willing to part with, I don’t see anything happening.

Saw a possible deal with Atlanta involving some bench players for Babbitt and Dedmond. Would be interesting, but I don’t think it’s too likely.

I’m guessing they’ll do nothing, pump up Parker as a savior, try to ride it out and then shift everything to 18-19. If they bring in Bogut, it could help if he’s healthy- but that’s certainly not likely.

Lost season is appearing more and more likely. Kidd thinks it’s because they’re young...

Well- sloppy ass game but a win. Brogdon sets a career high with 32. You think that is a coincidence?

Middleton with 35. And probably Brogdon’s biggest contribution was his D on Booker, who finishes with 14 points on 2-14 shooting. Bucks force 22 turnovers.

And he does- 41-13-7-2-2.

So in the two games since Kidd gets sh*t canned, Giannis rests and goes for 41 in his return, Brogdon sets a career high with 32, and they look like a basketball team.

Substitution patterns resemble an actual NBA rotation.

They set 2 season lows defensively tonight- lowest quarter (15) and lowest half (35).

Im not sayin’... I’m just sayin’..

I would say there is, but more long term I think. That just goes into the idiocy of Jason Kidd. Giannis played 33 minutes last night. Middleton 34. Still the most on the team, but far more reasonable than leading the NBA as 1-2. Brown got 27 minutes- some rough stretches, sure, but with Brogdon out that’s expected. Will Vaughn get some time now? I feel more comfortable with Prunty making that decision now.

Maker looked more comfortable last night. They need to keep feeding him minutes. We’ll see if Vin Baker’s new spot on the staff will help both him and Parker.
