Why do we park on driveways and drive on parkways?
Big fan of our leadership now
With “COVID running rampant in our community,” here’s how Matt LaFleur closed his postgame comments last night, practically pleading with Green Bay citizens.

Was in a Kwik Star (Same as Kwik Trip) in Cresco Iowa today. About 10 people in the store, half did not have masks on even tho sign on door said mask required. I did.
And remember to wash your hands. No buts.
Well, it is Iowa....

Iowa.
Its redundant.
I was in the bathroom today at my office building. Guy next to me had no mask, walks out without washing his hands. Come on people.
You gotta wonder if the league's protocols are enough. I've gathered that if you've had direct contact with a person who tests positive, they recommend quarantining for 14 days. If you test negative throughout, you're good. 14 days seems like a long time but seems like the incubation period is kind of unknown. Patriots did none of that, allowing players who made direct contact with Cam to travel and play just 3 days later. This idea of testing negative today means you're 100% clean is just wrong. We're seeing it in the White House and now we're seeing it in the NFL. Don't know what the solution is but this isn't it. Hope they figure this out soon. And get lucky.

Some opinions from quite a few years ago:
Armpits, asshole, crotch, and teeth.
After a presumptive positive player test today, all Jets players and coaches were just sent home, per source.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) October 9, 2020
Turned out to be a false positive. All of their players have since tested negative.
Apparently these "presumptive positive" tests are fairly common but usually don't get reported until there is a verified positive result.
If I'm the Bills I'm insisting on a forfeit at this point.
Aside from one positive test in New England and one positive test in Tennessee, there were no other positive tests with any other team this morning, per source.

And so the Broncos and Patriots both have their unexpected byes today before they play next Sunday. https://t.co/rO1uMTVJ43

For now, Jaguars-Chargers is scheduled for week 8, so there are a lot of moving parts. https://t.co/2lwWINH8IN

The Titans and the Patriots should both be forced to sit out the rest of the season. They are literally putting the lives of the others players at risk due to their own recklessness and incompetence.

There is a bunch of tweets from Silver here. Click on it to read the entire thread
THREAD: 1) According to a source familiar with the NFL's scheduling scenarios, when the league decided Sunday morning not to play Broncos-Patriots Monday night, they debated an indefinite postponement, which would essentially have put the "Week 18" scenario in play...

Oh boy.
@AdamSchefter: Falcons are shutting down their facility after multiple positive tests, sources tell ESPN.
Is it really that hard to stay quarantined & wash your hands...and wash your ass? I've been doing it for 7 months now. SHOCKER! I never caught the virus.
More than ever, the healthy teams will be the ones standing at the end.
Tennessee and Atlanta. Like a who's who.
All of Tennessee's positive tests must've come from their practice squad, cuz they're 4 - 0.

You've only been washing your hands & ass for the last 7 months? Yuck.

I'm starting to wonder if we'll make it to 8 games. Indiana, whoddathunk? Considering the trend the Packers should be next. Good thing most of the players want to get the hell out of Green Bay or stay in the facilities. Nice having a coach who actively supports preventative measures. Go Mayo!

Boris in the park.
All is well. Details shortly. COLTS-BENGALS, 1PM SUNDAY!

Sounds like some more false-positives.
The only way to truly protect yourself is to stay a way from people. Add in masks and sanitizing for good measure.
The last I checked football players are around dozens of folks each day, do not wear masks when near others and do not wash their hands after contact with others.
Toss in a little spit, sweat and blood and it's a wonder that we have games to watch.

Viral load is a factor. A brief encounter with a spreader is different than the two of you in a car, both with masks off for an extended period of time. They are discovering this...
I have a friend who had pretty much isolated himself after the Illinois shutdown because his mom is 85 and he spends a lot of time with her. Well, he got it-from his mom (who got it from his brother). All have recovered to normal 2 weeks later.

That's another context where wearing the mask helps. The concept that different initial doses of virus can contribute to different outcomes is something that's been looked at in a variety of viral diseases but is still somewhat understudied. If you get exposed to a huge dose it's harder for your adaptive immune system (B and T cells) to catch up and "overtake" it. A smaller dose gives your immune system a little bit more of a head start. If someone shedding virus sneezes near you, even if the mask doesn't block everything, if its blocking 99% of the virus, the lower dose is likely to be easier to recover from.
Simple thing is to just wear a mask. If the whole country did this, most of the economy could be open by now (with the exception of things like large indoor gatherings or sitting in stadiums with screaming people).
