Maybe something's missing this year just because he doesn't look as explosive. Didn't work as hard in the offseason? Injury the public isn't aware of? Fell out of favoritism with Rodgers? He may be catching his targets at only 55%, but I want to know where those balls were thrown. Rodgers has not been as consistent this year on longer passes either. Was Rodgers targeting Tonyan but it was uncatchable? Just saying he's not making as many catches with almost the same number of targets without any further explanation is pretty weak journalism.

Rodgers has been off with some throws to Tonyan, but in general I think it's just a combination of 1) teams having tape on Tonyan and defending him better (matching him with DB instead of slow LB) 2) he's been chipping more to help out the OL and they aren't able to scheme him open as easily and 3) Davante is getting the lions share of targets. I think once we have DB back and the OL is at full strength I think there will be more opportunities for everyone.

Suspect his production will improve as the OL becomes healthy and more stable. His so-called slump is also related to AR's poor performance  in throwing downfield so far this season (missed an open Big Bob a few times).

I think a big thing with Tonyan's performance this year has been MVS being out. Obviously Adams commands a lot of attention, but when you have MVS on the field the safeties have to respect his ability to get deep also and that opens up the seams and middle more for Tonyan (and Lazard) to operate. ESB or Cobb on the field instead of MVS lets the safeties stay a little closer to the LOS.

Concur.   I'll add that having MVS back will help soften things up for Bob as well.

Good news, the production so far this year brings down his price tag.   He's not Kelce or Kittle, but he's on the next level down.

That was a pure delight.  Bahk wouldn’t stand a chance in a chug contest with a Holstein.  Just saying.

I used to have to go drag the hose out of the basement every day in the winter and then break up the ice in the stock tank to water the cows in the barnyard that didn't have access to the drinking cups. That was fun when it was below zero.

My late grandfather used to call me every week when I when started graduate school. He'd ask me what I did and I'd describe what working in a lab was like (pipetting liquids, running gels, sitting and reading and writing). His response was always something like "we'll that doesn't really sound like work"
