Nate Poole's catch & Favre's INT in the NFC CG might be the 2 best non-Packer NFL highlights of All-Time.

Packers 27-38

Vikings 10-16

Packers have been averaging 26.6 pts per game....Vikings...just under 21 over the last 5 weeks.

The game could be close but if the Packers play their game, I can't see the Vikings winning

Wow OW, they are freaking out over there.

I only dream about the outcomes of games maybe once every few years.
The 1987 NFC Championship game is one example of a game I remember dreaming about.

In any case, I dreamed that they lost to GB this week.

Every time I dream about the outcome and they lose in my dream, they follow it up with an actual lose.

Every time I have dreamed that they won (which I think was only once), they lose.

Just thought this might be handy for anyone gambling on the game

I remember dancing while blasting the Happy Schnapps Combo's "We're the Minnesota Vikings" after that TD, even before the ref came out from under the hood. It was a very good day. Too bad Sherman, Sharper/Barnett/Marques Anderson and Favre had to ruin what seemed like destiny in Philadelphia.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy spoke to the media on Friday after his team’s final practice before Sunday’s game against Minnesota. Here are some highlights from his news conference:

-Running back James Starks (knee, out) and cornerback Davon House (shoulder, doubtful) didn’t practice on Friday. Wide receiver Randall Cobb (ankle, knee) was limited and is questionable to play on Sunday.

-Randall Cobb practiced in a limited fashion today. He was able to go through his workout. He took some returns and took some practice reps.

-I think that’s a question for Sunday. We’re in part of the game-planning aspect of it. A very good player as far as returner, offensive player. We’ll let Sunday answer that question.

-We break down the start of every game. It’s part of our evaluation.

-Mike Neal is having a heck of a year. To fight through the shoulder injury, he had the setback with the suspension.

-We haven’t had a padded practice in a number of weeks, but yesterday’s padded practice is actually as spirited as we’ve had for the past month.

-Davon House has shoulder and hip. It’s just not progressing as we’d all hope. We’ll see where he is tomorrow.

-I feel good about Jordy Nelson. He had a good week of work. I have no reason not to believe he’ll be ready to go Sunday.

-Our receiving group is our primary strength of the group. The fact they all can play those spots helps immensely in game-planning. It’s a big part of how we approach games and install offense
Tyler Dunne from JSO and other reporters seemed to post fairly positive things on Cobb and said he was moving well. If he's inactive this week Im not panicking he won't be available when playoff's start.

Knock on wood but Jordy's reports thus far have been positive as well. Looks like he'll play this week.

Keep Cobb out.

We can win this game without him

Agreed. Silly to play Cobb when he is struggling with fitness this week.
Have him suit up and be ready to play if he is needed. He'll have two weeks to rest after the game if the Packers take care of business. The Vikings will not be the pushovers everyone here is making them out to be. If Minnesota's pass rush is rolling (I have a feeling at least Allen is going to be able to do something) and the Vikings score early, it's entirely possible that something messy could develop once the Metrodump gets noisy and Vikings players start feeling confident. If that happens, the Packers are going to need all hands on deck. I have no doubt that the Packers would tear the Vikings to shreds at Lambeau the next week in the event that the Vikings pull an upset on Sunday, but I want the Packers to pull out all the stops to ensure that game doesn't happen at all.
Living in Arizona has been a historical suck for Packer fans the last two seasons!

Cards/Pack even had the same bye week this year.

I love my local Packer bar, but c'mon!
I'll use FirstRow and similar sites for other team's match ups, but I'll reluctantly pay the bar prices to see the Pack without any potential viewing problems.

Free shots with every Packer TD.

10 dollar beer bust (drink as much as you like during the game).

3.50 dollar bloody mary's.

And free pizza or free wings at halftime.

Now you know your in Wisconsin. Smiler
If Cobb is able to run and make cuts, he needs to at least suit up on Sunday. Doesn't mean he needs to return kicks or get a ton of snaps on offense (or any at all for that matter), but he needs to be available if the Packers find themselves in a tough spot. If he's able to do that much and he doesn't suit up, it would be a case of either them being overly cautious or them not taking the Vikings seriously.

I like this idea, too. Even if he is just used as a decoy on some plays, he would take at least one defender out of the play for someone else.

Ever notice how Troy likes to mix up commonly-used phrases?

I remember once when he was talking about how Rodgers would audible and then the defense would audible in response and Aikman called it a "Micky Mouse game" instead of a "cat and mouse game".

He's done it with a few others to but I can't think of them right now.

I'd say he's the best commentator of all the Cokeboys though. Emmitt was entertaining while he lasted.

good idea. I've seen MM do that by running Finley onto the field to the WR position - both the safety and ILB adjusted to his side of the field.

I'm always shocked with out how unsympathetic he is to players taking big hits...like concussion giving hits. For a guy who had his career ended by concussions, he often times acts like a brutal helmet to helmet shot is no big deal, I assumed he would be sensitive to that kind of thing.

Him and Buck are my least favorite crew though.
I was listening to The Score Thursday night and they had Rob Demovsky (I believe) on and he said that in his opinion, Cobb was more doubtful than questionable based on what he was hearing.

More interestingly, he was asked by the Score host "What's the biggest difference between Cutler and Rodgers?" Demovsky answered (paraphasing), "It's from the neck up. Both are athletic, but McCarthy has drilled into Rodgers' head that he cannot throw interceptions. He's been sacked 40 something times, and probably 15 or more of those are because he holds the ball so long. But that's what McCarthy wants: take a sack and do NOT force the ball into coverage. Nothing shows that more than when you look at Rodgers' red zone numbers. 104 TDS and only 2 picks in his career. I think that's why there was such a disconnect between McCarthy and Favre. Favre refused to stop forcing throws, and McCarthy was having none of it.

On the other hand, talking to the defensive players up here, the feeling is that Cutler will throw them the ball at least 2 or 3 times a game. All they have to do is make sure they catch it. And he usually does. That's the biggest difference between the two."

It was an interesting interview. I sat in my car when I got home from work and listened to it. I don't know if MM gets enough credit for help making Rodgers the player that he is.
