The entire season has been defined by how they couldn’t finish.

They couldn’t finish key plays- almost getting the big play, the big throw, the tackle, or the sack. They couldn’t finish the Mack deal. They couldn’t finish several games. In each case, they were in position, has it right there, and fell short.

Rodgers & Adams should both be inactive for last 2 games. I see no reason for either to risk further injury.

Yeah but who is going to make that happen? Philbin is still auditioning.

I’d love to see the % of times recievers run exact routes so they are where they are supposed to be.

This offense looks like a guessing game between AR and the recievers where he thinks they’re headed.

The missed TD to EQ is a good example. He kept his route vertical. Rodgers threw inside. Rodgers asking recievers to come back toward him when the pocket collapses is another.

Offense in general looks like it doesn’t have a plan.

Too bad EQ ran a route that would have been a TD and AR12 wishes he ran a different route.

And in the end they are finished....finally

+ I think the defense played hard with a bunch of no names in the lineup. (I got so see Fadol Brown, who is a local boy, play) The game is also good training and an audition for next year for a lot of the team and coaches.

- we lost and that will alway be a negative.

+ I think this should end the Philbin discussion. I don't believe he can offer any solutions to right the ship, just more of the same; not sure why you would expect something significantly different with him in charge.

- Rodgers will need a coach/counselor that he believes in to get him back on the track.

- Offense still badly needs a makeover

- Listening to MN media gurgling about their purple pukes and scoffing at Leroy going after AR on twitter. Really now, it was bad Miami.

+ Only 2 more games; agree AR should sit these next ones out. Why risk permanent disability?

With as inaccurate as Rodgers has been all season how can anyone say the rookie WR are not any good?  Scantling was wide open for a TD today and Rodgers over threw him by 5 yards.  There were other times the rookies were open all season but Rodgers didn't throw to them.

To me, the play of ESB and of MVS was pretty solid this season. I like our young WRs. We need to get Kumerow and Moore more involved, too.

+++ All coaches not named Pettine can pack their bags. Pettine really cobbled together a decent defense the past few weeks with the pieces he had to work with. Get him the players he needs and we can put fear into the hearts of our adversaries again. Dean Lowry is getting better, all the time, on the D Line. I love his motor.

---- Josh Jackson hasn't been as good as he was advertised. Breeland is the better player at CB.  Right side of our O Line really was hard to watch with Bulaga gone. Even with Bulaga playing, I'd wonder how long before he gets injured, again. To think we had a shot at McGlinchey out of Notre Dame and passed on him when one of our biggest needs, pre draft, was O Line help. Brice gets beat for a TD. I know he can hit hard, but he cannot keep up with speedy RBs or WRs. Our punter is also not as advertised. I only recall maybe two punts all season that were boomers. Lots of shanks from Scott gave our opponents a short field to work from, quite often. Aaron Rodgers' accuracy is way down. I wonder if his throwing hand is injured. I recall seeing him babying it after deep throws in previous games.  Where did the quick rhythm offense go?  It was working when they used it and suddenly it disappeared.

We now have nothing to lose by benching Rodgers, Graham and others and giving Kizer or Boyle(if he can play) some playing time. I think we need to see more of Tonyan at TE and Kumerow at WR, too. Tell me again how Mack wasn't worth two first round picks? Losing out only helps our draft situation. It does not, however, help our morale.

The venom toward Rodgers from all angles has been strange.  The fact Leroy went after him was just so wierd. Leroy never went after Brett when he kept the Packers from winning by throwing into triple coverage and missing guys right and left.  It seems as tho everyone has jumped on the Skip Bayless bus and fighting to drive it. Hopefully Rodgers can get his head right. A 30 million dollar QB cannot keep missing the throws that he is missing. I wonder if it is the injury last year, the injury this year, the contract, the girl friend, Jordy leaving, his family drama, or what. Go see a shrink but figure it out. If we are sitting here next year with the same results and performance the fans are going to be in full riot mode.

Agree regarding Mack. I guess we may never know how the negotiations actually went, but  getting Mack not only adds a difference-maker to the Packers, it keeps one away from their adversaries. I'm not worried about morale at this stage as I think the coaching clean-sweep will cure a lot of this, as long as the bring in a guy with some energy and creativity. Time to evaluate and get the best possible draft slot.

I'll be very disappointed, check that - pissed, if I can't watch a Pettine D next year.  The production he's gotten from what he's had to work with and all the injuries is outstanding.  Letting that guy get away will be a mistake from what I've seen...  unless the next guy is somehow that much better but I have no idea who that'd be.

Regarding Mack, everything I've read would seem to indicate that the Raiders felt the Bears' first rounder would be the highest and they weren't negotiating in good faith with the Packers. Ryan Wood wrote a piece claiming that the Packers were outbid and I'm not convinced that's accurate.

Wasting another draft pick on a punter when we badly needed OL depth... And I know the guy we drafted didn't show, but more OL was still needed so Spriggs could go away.

I don't get this either. He's still the best QB in the division and in a down year is still a top 12 guy in the league. If he were Favre, he'd have thrown 25 interceptions this year. I guess some people like the gunslinger thing, but Rodgers playing overly conservative kept them in games. They couldn't finish, but they had a chance in almost every game. Favre would have thrown pick 6s and they'd have been out of games  much sooner.

Bayless is a total idiot. Butler was with this tweet also. Did Butler criticize Favre when he was retiring/unretiring every year starting in 2002? Throwing 6 interceptions in playoff games? Panicking and throwing the OT interception in the 4th and 26 game? It's probably as much that Rodgers doesn't feel like he has to kiss Butler's ass by giving him extra access. The media plays up the guys that don't like Rodgers angle (I would guess Greg Jennings is the source for a lot of quotes). We don't hear as much about the guys that Rodgers seems to be close to. He was in Cobb's wedding, wasn't he? Jordy and James Jones also seem to like him a great deal. The crap about criticizing him for girlfriends has to stop as well. We'd rather have him like Favre chasing every available skirt in the Fox River Valley with Chmura?

What would have happened had you switched Trubisky and Rodgers yesterday? The Bears would have won by 3-4 TDs. Many of the throws Rodgers missed this year were ones that most QBs can't make accurately - running around in the pocket and throwing on the run. We just got so spoiled by Rodgers hitting those for years that we expect it every time. How many GMs would take Rodgers over their guy right now for a playoff run? Who wouldn't - maybe Kansas City, New England, Pittsburgh, and New Orleans?

Let's see Rodgers in a setting where his first thought when he drops back isn't "how badly was Spriggs beaten off the snap" and throwing to more than one WR who isn't a rookie or washed up. He was handing off to Jamaal Williams all yesterday and he needs a lot more reps with mid to late round draft pick WRs to get on the same page.

MichiganPacker:

But, there are legitimate inaccuracy issues that are not explained by receivers not being on the same page with him.  Against Seattle on I think a 3rd and 2, he missed Jones who was maybe 4 yards away.  The ball was thrown in the dirt in front of him.  How is Rodgers that far off on a 4 yard throw?  He did similar in another game, I think Patriots.

Sure hope that is all it is.

I think the criticism of 12 in comparison to Favre is simple. Teammates in general just like/liked Favre a lot more. Say what you will about 4 and all his warts, you never hear a cross word about him from ex-teammates.

AR has a 'I'm the smartest guy in the room' way about him and that is fine by me. Most of the time, he probably is.

Favre hung out with the guys and partied. I don't think he had any interests other than being a good ole boy and driving his tractor around. If he wasn't an exceptional athlete, he'd be the guy at the bar in every small town in rural Wisconsin (or rural Mississippi) talking about his high school football glory days.

AR seems to be a much more thoughtful guy in terms of being broadly knowledgeable. He is the guy in every small town in rural Wisconsin that stayed home, stayed out of trouble, studied hard, and people didn't like because he made them look bad. He was the guy that couldn't wait to get out of the small town in rural Wisconsin. If he wasn't an exceptional athlete, he'd be a lawyer or business man.

Agree completely.  I was hoping he would dial up something new for the Bears game, but obviously that was wishful thinking on my part.  He also did himself no favors if he's hoping for a job offer in Green Bay.

Time for a whole new regime on offense.  It's too bad they can't hire the new coach now, and treat the last 2 games as pre-pre-season games, and the last 2 weeks of practice as mini-mini camps!

I'm all for it and only half-joking, especially considering the new collective bargaining rules prohibiting off-season player activities.  They are going to have a whole new system to learn next year, and only a limited amount of time in which to do it.  The new guy could also sit guys like Rodgers and Adams, which Philbin has no incentive to do.

This is what I'm seeing on some throws.

Rodgers has had consequential season altering injuries in 4 of the last 6 seasons.

I would be shocked if they are not collectively taking a toll as he ages each season.

Injuries? Inexperienced receivers? I say:sp7

If a rookie QB like Josh Allen can throw a TD pass to an un-drafted free agent rookie receiver, Shirley, Rodgers should be able to hit on one of those 3 passes after the Bares fumble.  He says he hurt his groin throwing the Hail Mary. That pass was right where it was supposed to be. I'm not buying the excuses. Time for Aaron to skip all the off season BS and get to freakin work. Yes I'm piling on AR too!

Can anybody vouch for how Patrick played yesterday? Spriggs playing poorly was a given, and it looked like Daktari didn't have a good day, but how did the interior guys hold up?

Spot on!
I think Aaron is actually processing info at too fast a rate because of the immediate need to improvise. Pressure is forcing him to react and make a decision too soon; leading to the appearance of not seeing an open receiver and/or throwing to one that's covered.
That may not explain under-/over-throws, but they need to start a fix somewhere, and OL should be the first try.

This is one point I'd have to disagree with- this year. Generally, it's been a luxury knowing your QB had that ability to avoid the big mistake. And it is a luxury, one that Rodgers is rivaled by no one, unless we count Brady. This trait has kept the Pack in a ton of games under AR, with the exception of this year. I think the argument could be made that the conservative approach actually took GB out of games moreso than kept them in. MM and AR and the stagnant offense have permeated the other two units in a significant way this season, and that's something none of us are accustomed to. How many stops have we seen by this overtaxed and ragged defense that yielded nothing but a quick turn around to get back on the field? The D has busted their tails to give AR chance after chance to go get points, and more often than not it's been squandered. I think that residual effect has had a beatdown effect on the entire roster this year. Of course it's not entirely on AR, but it starts with him and ultimately ends with him. The surefire HOF guy needs to hold himself and his ten guys to a much higher standard if they're going to turn this around any time soon. The TD/INT ratio is great, but only when the result shows up on the scoreboard.

Why is social media venting any different than what goes on around here?  Random, anonymous people complaining about stuff.

Because x4 isn't the greatest propaganda tool ever invented and you choose to specifically be here because you're a dick like the rest of us.  x4 doesn't float across your feed or mine your data to commoditize you.  x4 is a goldmine of assholes without doubt but you actually have to be an asshole prospector of some fortitude to even venture in here.
