With Hurricane Ida causing major damage in New Orleans the Packers opening game with the Saints may not be played at the Super Dome. But the game will also not be at Lambeau but at another site. Stay tuned.

During Katrina season Saints played four of their scheduled home games at LSU's Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, three at the Alamodome in San Antonio, and one at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey."
I have to believe that the Saints team will be seriously impacted by this madness.....
Maybe they can play in Chicago, they havenβt hosted an N.F.L. Game in years.
Peter King thinks it could be played at AT&T stadium:
The NFL wouldnβt move the Sept. 12 game to Lambeau Field for competitive reasons, giving the Pack home-field advantage in such a significant game. And with prospective sites like Indianapolis, Detroit, Houston and Atlanta all unavailable because those teams are home on the 12th, the vacancy at AT&T Stadium in Texas that day might make it the best alternative sight. Itβs too early to seriously consider Packers-Saints at Jerryworld in Week 1, but itβs certainly in the back of minds at the NFL this morning.
Thatβs sucky for NO

Butt buddies.
I have an army bud who lives in Houma, LA. He and his family had to evacuate.

Iβm calling bullshit.
Was that top loop drawn in with a Sharpie?
Where's the nuke to take it out?
Jerry Jones tells @1053thefan the #DallasCowboys are working with the NFL to host #Saints-#Packers season opener at @ATTStadium on Sept 12. #HurricaneIda https://t.co/bekEBDVsVB

Hopefully they don't charge normal prices for tickets. Maybe a huge discount for residents of Louisiana.
That should be a plus for GB. Superdome may be the loudest place in the league and AR's experiences at AT&T have been 5G, minimum.
Heard on radio the Power Company in Louisiana saying it will take weeks to restore electricity, so that game is not happening in the SuperDome.
Packer fans, get on those Sunday Night tickets in Big D!!
Sean Payton said the Saints are planning to be away from New Orleans for the first quarter of the NFL season and will adjust accordingly.

@SlaterNFL: #Saints/GB week 1 likely not happening at AT&T stadium because of a concert at the stadium that week. The venue will have to be an NFL one so the search continues but Iβm told they will likely practice here in DFW at either TCU or SMU because of practice bubbles and availability
More on possible locations for week 1. Denver would be cool.
Los Bukis performing at AT&T Wednesday the 15th and sources tell me their contract requires a few days prior for setup. So thatβs out. Other venues that could be avail just looking at schedulesβ¦.Jacksonville, Miami, Seattle, Denver, San Fran and Arizona https://t.co/bittIMJ7ZB

Bears are on the road in Week 1, play it at Soldier Field. The Packers frequently win there. @zachkruse2
More fans in/near FL? So JAX or MIA?
Send em to London. #sarcasm

They said the game had to be played at an NFL venue.

So Mark Schlereth was correct. Aaron Rodgers may play in Mile High Stadium on opening day.
Game will be played in Jacksonville
A 3pm game in Jacksonville in the middle of September will test their conditioning and stamina.
On the other hand, I expect it will be easier than playing in the Superdome given crowd noise and likely a lot more GBP fans in attendance in FL.
Why are they just not coming to Lambeau??
With Packers-Saints Week 1 game moving to Jacksonville, Green Bay re-opens as 4-point favorite at @CircaSports.

Consensus line had been Green Bay -3 (at New Orleans)
Heat will be a big challenge.

Because the NFL deems it unfair to give the Packers another home game.
Something tells me that the fans will be Packer friendly.
there's usually a large contingent of Packers fans when they play the jags there, i can't imagine it being different this time.
As others have said, the heat and humidity will be a big factor.
I think the heat should play to our advantage. Pound the rock all day long and that defense will collapse.
Itβs close enough to where I live so I might go. But I canβt find anyone selling tickets yet. I checked the major sites and come up empty.
I have to believe the disruption to their daily lives will hamper the Saints.
They went 3-13 the year of Katrina, though admittedly the talent wasn't there. Aaron Brooks, ex-Packer, was their QB.
I lived in the heat and humidity in Florida and now in SC. And I spent over five years deployed to the Middle East. I have seen what heat can do to people not used to it. But I have read that itβs been hot in Wisconsin as well. It will be an adjustment but if you are hydrated itβs only a mental thing.
