I’ve spent a lot of time in the southeast, and currently live in WI, and there’s a world of difference between FL and WI in terms of heat and humidity especially as you get out of the July/August timeframe.

It’s in the mid 70s this week with basically zero humidity.  You get into September and it rarely goes above 80 in NE Wisconsin. Last year, it was 81 on September 23.  One day.  Compare that to Jacksonville. In 2020, there were only 2 days in September under 80.  There were 9 days where it was over 90 degrees.

Suffice to say, there’s a strong likelihood it’s going to be in the mid-upper 80s and humid.

The other concern is basically 80% of their starting roster didn’t even play in preseason.  Yes they had camp and practices.  But those aren’t real games that count type situations.  Guys will be thrown right into the fire and I’m hoping we don’t see players go down to injury or cramping because of the temps.

Because the NFL deems it unfair to give the Packers another home game.

The NFL could give GB another home game as their schedule has 8 Home and 9 Away games. So the numbers would just flip and not really give them too much of a benefit. Half the teams in the league already have 9 Home games so GB would just add to the list. Three weeks later the Saints host the Giants, but the league would not be able to schedule the game in NY as the Jets play at home. Sucks for NO but I’m not complaining.

Keep in mind the Aints play in an air conditioned dome at home. And, most likely an air conditioned practice field of some sort. So, they will be just as disadvantaged as us playing in those elements. Plus, most of August was hot and humid here during August so the Packers players are kinda used to it. Additionally, they played a hot humid game in Buffalo to end the preseason. I think the Pack will be up to the challenge.

DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT, if this is true, there should be an investigation from the NFL.  πŸ€¬ 😑 🀬

Jacksonville also happens to be the closest of the 3 to New Orleans if you're driving.  So there's that.

The dumb thing about the Expedia rumor is that the assumption is made that it would be difficult to travel from Green Bay. I'd imagine that there's plenty of fans who aren't from GB that might have the opportunity to attend, especially now that tickets are available (presumably cheaper) because the game is in J'ville.

I still can’t find a site that sells tickets. I think that I read on the Saints site that we should know more later today. I got my pickle juice chilling, sun glasses and a full tank of gas.

GREEN BAY – Tickets for the Septt. 12 Green Bay Packers-New Orleans Saints game in Jacksonville will go on sale at Ticketmaster.com at 10 a.m. Central time Friday.

New Orleans Saints season ticket holders will have first crack at tickets on Thursday.

Packers fans who want to buy tickets are advised to establish a Ticketmaster account  before Friday. Many fans who tried to buy tickets to the Packers' two playoff games at Lambeau Field earlier this year were unable to do so if they did not have an account, and high demand meant tickets were gone in a hurry.

Hot and humid in WI in August isn’t anything like hot and humid in the south or southeast US.

I’m in NE Wisconsin.  There wasn’t 1 day over 90 and only a couple of days in the upper 80s.  Take a look at Jacksonville.  Most of the month it was in the 90s.

I had no idea what it was like until I spent a summer in southern Arkansas about 5 years ago for work.   That year I think they had something like 50 straight days over 90 and plenty of days in or near triple digits with high humidity.  I’d have to go running at like 5am when the coolest it got was like 78 degrees.

I’d travel back home for some weekends and 80-85 in WI felt fantastic compared to the stuff in Arkansas.

So yeah, it will be a factor and worth monitoring.  Better start guzzling pickle juice now!!

Someone did this independently and confirmed that flights to Miami and Tampa were in the $150 range from Wisconsin and Jacksonville was over $400.
