+++ Aaron Rodgers and Matt Lafleur being in sync, is a thing of beauty, to behold! Loving me some Lazard! However, I do want to see him catch a deep ball and get into the end zone, instead of to the 3 or 4 yard line, for a change! He is as tough as a WR comes and is definitely our #2 WR! Aaron Jones is a stud! Pay the man and then extend Bakh and King. Kingsley Keke had a very nice,  yet unexpected, solid game! I'm happy he showed up to give us some depth behind Kenny Clark. Oren Burks played well. Burks caused a fumble on a Saint's return. Zadarious Smith's strip and recovery of Hill was just what we needed, late in the game! Summers showed up.  Lancaster gets props for running the length of the field and tackling Kamara in the end zone on that play where no other Packer defender could wrap Kamara up! It was an embarrassing display of how bad our run defense is. Mason Crosby is money!  Chandon Sullivan and Krys Barnes are keepers. 3-0!!! GO PACK, GO!!!

--- Where was Preston Smith? We haven't seen much from him in our pass rush, the first three games. Our Run Defense is horrible, but we knew that.  Expecting our offense to carry the work load will come back to haunt us someday. I hope we address it sooner than later. Maybe giving Keke more reps will work things out. Gary needed to step up. I do not recall hearing his name called for anything behind the LOS. Lastly, No flag for running into Opie on that punt where he went down in a heap. That was an obvious penalty that should have gone the Packers' way.

BUT they are the same old Seahawks--no pass rush besides that new safety who got injured yesterday and no running game other than Russell scrambling. I'd love to see them at Lambeau again in the playoffs.

Hags pass defense left a lot to be desired, too! Griffen was beaten like a drum, all game long! Love to see ARod and our WRs in action against the Hags secondary.

It is becoming increasingly obvious just how much an advantage having no fans gives the offenses in general. 12 teams scored 30+ points yesterday. We have played vs. 3 really good "stat QBs" and will face another one this week. Yes, our defense doesn't look good, but few in the league do right now.

Particularly where Rodgers was able to draw the same player offsides twice in the same play.

That's the oddity of this season.  There is no home field advantage.  The grounds crew has more effect on the outcome.

I'm kind of curious to see how all players and teams readjust to having fans in the stands.  In a way, this is the most extensive training camp ever.  All those scrubs and low round draft picks should be making hay while they can.

I think Tonyan has the potential to be a pretty good player.   Hopefully Rodgers starts looking for him more after gaining some confidence in him tonight.

That corner stop route last week was unstoppable.

I always chocked it up to insufficient talent at TE but it's pretty clear now how bad McVince's offense was at utilizing TEs.  You'd see a Tonyan grab here or there but I never thought he showed much.  With Mayo finally putting his full offense in place it's a whole different world.  I have the utmost confidence in this offense because guys like Tonyan are flourishing and stepping up when the biggest star WR is on the sidelines.  Rodgers and Mayo are on the same page.  Last year was like a junkie getting clean.

Teams coming to Green Bay later in the year still need to deal with the changing weather and field conditions - fans or not.  But if you are a team like Minnesota or New Orleans or even Seattle that have such a distinct HFA due to crowd noise then it will be a factor for them.

Right now, Minnesota is toast and New Orleans may very well be toast and Seattle’s defense is awful.   The Eagles look like they are toast.  I think Dallas will be OK.  The NFC West could potentially send 4 teams to the playoffs.

+ Win
+ Won in a new way (not ramming the ball down their throat or throwing 15 passes to #17)
+ TE looked good
+ Ma$on Cro$by
+ No ST gaffes
+ Defense made a play when the needed to
+ Summers and Burks showed promise...mostly Summers
+ Keke outshined Lowry, Lancaster and Fred Sanford Adams (How hard is that?)
+ LAZARD!!! Fuck that dude is slow but he makes some damn impressive catches from time to time.

- Billy Turdner...fool is the least motivated looking OL on the squad, he literally looked like he was just standing there at times
- DL Depth...dead horse will be beaten all year long
- MVS inconsistency rears it's head again
- Leeeeeroy Jenkins had a sub-par game. But it can happen...dude is my favorite OL pick since Boo-lager.
- Aaron looked a  little too old school Aaron at times...was looking for the deep ball too often, and put the Packers in 2nd and 3rd and long too often
- Tackling was fucking atrocious at times. Compers-like. FFS...get it together!

Favorite moment of the game: Z causes and recovers the fumble, and Fred Sanford Adams looks like he's trying to jump on his back and ride him into the endzone like Secretariat. Comedic gold.

Remember when the narrative last year was how Rodgers would just "take over" & not accept any coaching from MLF??

The narrative this year is "Rodgers is pissed because they drafted a QB"

last sentence mathematically impossible

Game Balls

MLF game plan, game management, coaching.

I love going for it on the 50.  The strength of this team is the offense, be aggressive with that when you can.    Also, running the play clock down to 1 before challenging the Jones run at the goal line.   No way in hell Mike Mc has the awareness to do that.   We didn’t end up needing it, but still impressed.     Lastly, we didn’t embarrass ourselves with special teams like we have in so many big games in past seasons.

The one move I disagree with is starting Turner over Wagner. Just not a fan of Turner at all.

Bad Calls

MVS looked one dimensional.   That’s fine as his ability to stretch the field adds value but we all want more.

Im not as down on the D as most people are.  We have an obvious weakness, but we have been overcoming it with game changing plays.   The Sullivan pick and the Z strip were both huge plays.    That said, we seriously need to consider acquiring a DL via trade if we think we have a legit shot at the Lombardi this year.   Adams is hot garbage.  The Lowry contract was bad at the time, now it looks even worse.   He’s just a guy at best   Lancaster is a journeyman at best.    Make a move and get some help there.

I agree on Wagner. He'd been playing well. Get him out there.

Also agree on trading for a DL. Adams is horrible. Just useless. Lowry is a future cap casualty so we can afford Bakh.

Would love to see us get Snacks, but don't think it is happening.

The best case is Keke continues to improve and over time he pushes Lancaster and/or Lowry to the bench, and he and KC can provide at stout tandem.

What is alarming is at some point, Gutey thought Lowry was worth a premium contract extension.

2021 doesn't appear to be a great year for interior DL, which is fine because Gutey probably wouldn't draft one anyway. But there may be a FA floating around out there that can make up for the Lowry-Lancaster-Adams triumvirate of failure.

100% agree with this.  That was incredible clock management.  Running the clock to 2:04 set up the play call for the TD -the clock was stopping at the 2:00 warning no matter if they ran or passed, so along with the clock management came the ability to throw a pass and not stop the clock an extra time for the Saints.

As someone said earlier, most of the defense look worse this year. With no crowd noise on the road, if you have an experienced QB you are much less likely to fool them because they can call out coverages and audible and the fact that they don't need to use a silent count makes a huge difference in getting a jump on the pass rush (not to mention hard counts).

As frustrating as the defense appears at times, there is a different type of frustration from the Capers years. In many of the Capers losses, you'd see WRs and TEs (even pedestrian ones) running 10 yards free after broken coverages. You don't see that anywhere near as frequently. Instead, what we now see if that the Packers lack the defensive talent to make the plays that Pettine's scheme often puts them in place to make. No scheme is going to make up for the fact that the ILBs aren't very good and the interior DL is very weak behind Kenny Clark.

Overall, the player development and improved chemistry has been remarkable,  on offense. They've gotten absolutely nothing from the 2020 draft class, made a major downgrade from Bulaga to Wagner, and been missing their best WR for half of the 3 games and yet the offense has improved dramatically.

If there was ever a year for Gutey to distinguish himself from Ted's I only go with my guys approach to the roster by adding some veteran talent along the defensive line, this is it.

The NFC East teams are abysmal. The Saints are down and TB is better with Brady but not great.

The NFC West teams are all so good that they are going to end up beating each other up all season and SF has already suffered some devastating injuries.

The NFC is there for the taking ... but with that interior DL play ... if the offense doesn't score 35+ in the playoffs the Pack could lose to any number of teams.

Gutey did a stellar job of ridding the roster of all the defensive crap Ted left him at OLB, CB, and Safety, yet for some reason he has not moved on from Adams or Lowry and worse yet signed Lowry to a second contract. Ugh.

Time to bite the bullet and add some talent along the IDL while phasing out at least part of the Adam-Lancaster-Lowry trio.

I’m nervous about laying an egg against ATL.   It’s a Conference game so this isn’t the one you want to come out flat for.   Save that for an AFC opponent.

Right now SEA is also 3-0 in the Conference.   We have the inside track for tie breakers because their division is so much tougher but we don’t want to give any room with a conference loss to a lesser opponent.

With the two road wins in typically tough environments, things are looking really good for home field in the playoffs.

Amazing just how well MLF has the offense performing.

@Tschmack posted:

As for the game, the defense remains a concern specifically WTF has happened to Preston Smith?   Z Smith has been OK, and was good to see Keke step up, but they need more production out of their outside  pass rushers.   Tackling was a problem as well but Kamara is a beast and Ty Summers actually looked like he can play some LB.

The Smith Bros have been forced to play more LB which takes away from Edge /pass rush.

The biggest thing for me was that they won in NO.  I know without the crowd it isn't the same but the Saints are always a tough out at home.

The other thing with the win is that they are 3-0, leading the division, 3-0 in the NFC and are playing great offense right now.

New idea.  Snacks Harrison is going to get new robotic knees and come play in Green Bay.

Maybe we can look forward to him signing with another NFC team and coming here for a road playoff game in January.

This would also suggest he's not likely to sign with Chicago either.

+The offense.  Just everything.  LeFleur knows what he's doing.

+Jaire Alexander and Kinglsey Keke

-The rest of the defense.  Not going to be overly critical b/c they played a HOF QB with a top 3 RB in this league on the road and were missing their best player but that shouldn't affect their missed tackles.  Tough to watch Brees dink and dunk them apart like that.

-2020 Rookie Class.  I get that Love was picked for 2023 and beyond but hard to see the lack of impact from the other picks.  Hope that changes.

It looks like Degaura and Runyon can and will contribute this year, so you can’t really say their class is a negative because they didn’t play yesterday.

Lots of good here especially on offense and what a great road win against a very good team!!  Considering how well we are doing it is maddening that we spent two draft picks on Love when we needed help at DT, ILB, WR, and OT (although the Oline has been fantastic!!!). I would like to see more from this draft class but it is early. I'm optimistic for Deguara and Martin and Runyan has been solid.

It's hard to believe we came in to the season with Lowry, Lancaster, and Adams as 3 of our 5 Dlinemen...….

I lived in Chicago for most of the 60's and it ain't no warmer than GB, plus they have The Hawk coming off Lake Michigan.
