I am living in the Twin Cities area and for what it's worth a couple weeks ago I was at a Buffalo Wild Wings and talking to a guy who told me he was at that game and seated behind the endzone the side of the FG.

He said some Falcon player had an excellent push and had Anderson kicked it straight, it was 100% gonna be blocked and that he purposely tried to kick it off center to avoid the block.

Who knows?  Maybe he was full of it.

Yup, sounds like your typical Vikings fan to me. Challenging all those 49ers fans. He got what he wanted. In fact, that's the closest feeling a Vikings fan will come to the feeling of winning a super bowl. Seriously. Vikings fans love getting their asses kicked. That's why they support that team.

For what it's worth. I was at the Eden Prairie Hilton Garden Inn back in 2011. The guy that makes omelettes told me he was in New Orleans in 2009 and he said from his seat it was obvious the chalk was extra thick on the 40 yard line. If Brett would have run he would have tripped and fumbled. He had to throw it.

53 years of fail lead to fuzzy details that don't mesh with actual events. In the two years Gary Anderson didn't miss a figgy the other team never applied pressure. A wild confluence of time and place set into motion a particular instance the other team decided to attempt a block. And Gary had to resort to trying to put a little english on the screwball.

The mind of a Viking fan is a wildly dark and depressing black hole of hope and reason.

The Vikings Suck!

I usually have to see the replay to see things like that.  And he saw it live, from the end zone?  Ha, ha.  This guy loses all credibility on distance alone - the kick after all was from 81 yards out - right?  Here is the video.  Guy to avoid?  81 yards?  Hardly.  Anderson had a clear shot from about 38 yards out. About 2 minutes in.

"The biggest thing I said to them was, 'Guys, it's like an Italian dining room table. Everyone is sitting around the table, and sometimes it gets heated, dishes get broken and people leave. But everybody's got to come back to the table to eat. When it's all said and done, there's hugging and kissing, and we're eating good food again."

Dinner with the Tomsula's! Maybe the worst comparison ever by the way.

Green Bay put Kaep on the map. Green Bay took him off it.

From Cuqui's link:

quote:
This trust idea goes both ways. A former 49ers assistant told Niners Nation that “it wasn’t that Kaepernick couldn’t read or couldn’t make the throws, but he lacked the ability to trust his receivers to be there before he could see them.” If Kaepernick doesn’t trust his teammates to block and get open, there’s a good chance they’ll respond with uninspired play.

That would explain Jeff Janis.

/ducking

Boldin was bitching pretty good late in the game against us. I doubt he was throwing any accolades at Kaperdick.

That may have very well been the beginning of the wall crumbling.

I have to wonder if this is what 'inspired' Davis to bitch. Since he apparently had a good sideline view...

Q: Have you guys met and is there a decision on who your starting quarterback will be Sunday?

Tomsula: Yeah, we’re evaluating everything right now. So, we’re in the middle of it right now. I don’t have any comments on any position on our field right now. We are evaluating everybody.

Q: In the past, you’ve stated quite clearly, “QB Colin Kaepernick is our quarterback.”

Tomsula: Yeah, we’re evaluating everyone.

Q: Does that mean he might not start the next game?

Tomsula: I’m not going to have any further comment. I’m just telling you that we are evaluating everyone.

Would love to see film of Coach Caveman during these sessions. Imagine the stench that jumpsuit of his has right now.

Tomsula has ZERO say as to who "his" QB is.

He also has ZERO say as to who his OC / DC and other coaches are.

This is coming from Baalke & blessed by York. I hope those 2 ass clowns stay at the helm of that organization for decades.

CLASSIC

Beat me to it Hungry! That was my first reaction! To be fair, he did say "As long as I've been doing THIS job..." He's excluding his playing days from the analysis. Someone should send him some Tim Hasselbeck film for him to review as an analyst.

Teams have ZERO patience to develop anything. If you aren't winning in 2-3 years (sometimes even less) you're gone.

Hell even Tom Couhglin (won not 1 but TWO Super Bowls) is on the hot seat. Ridiculous

Seems Coughlin is on the hot seat nearly every year, but I think a lot of that has to do with the bright lights and magnifying glass of the NY media. Unless teams there are blowing people out consistently the media turns up the heat on the coaching, or in the NYY case, it is often the players who get scrutinized.

As much of a petulant twit Harbaugh can be, he was the reason CK succeeded as he understood the skill set and put him in the best situation to succeed. That and having Gore and that OL was a big factor. All of those factors are gone.

Gore, O-Line AND the defense.

Christ they came an eyelash away from making the Super Bowl with Alex friggin Smith.

RTFB & play great defense goes a LONG way in this league. When you have a HOF QB on top of that you won't be denied.

That's what is so frustrating with this Packer team. All the pieces are in place but they aren't EXECUTING!

2013 OL. Staley, Iupati, Goodwin, Boone, Davis. Possibly the best in football. With Gore, LeMichael James, and Kendall Hunter at RB. Coached by Harbaugh.

2015 OL, Staley, Boone, Martin, Devey, Pears. Possibly the worst OL in football. With Carlos Hyde and some Australian rugby guy they just waived then brought back and I have no idea who else at RB. Coached by a caveman.

I'll say this right now.

The football we see out of SF with Blaine Gabbert throwing to Anquan "I have officially stopped caring" Boldin behind that OL with no running game coached by Jim Tomsula will be the ugliest football anyone has seen in a very long time.

It's impossible to overstate how badly Baalke and York have screwed this team up.
