This is about the 2014 FCC decision to get rid of the blackout rule:

Luke Skywalker, Vladimir Stolichnaya, Sonny Hedgehog, and Bilbo Baggins liked it, that's who

“I write as a football fan,” read the letter to the Federal Communications Commission, “to strongly urge you to maintain the FCC’s current broadcast rules.”

It was signed Bilbo Baggins, of Brooklyn, N.Y.

“The current system works,” wrote a Luke Skawalker of Englewood, Colo., a Vladimir Stolichnaya of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Bilbo Bagginses in Brooklyn and Derry, N.H.

Among the letters were ones from an Egg Leg, a Swim Shady, a Current Resident and a Sonny Hedgehog.

Might as well put this here.

NEW YORK - The good news for football fans: It's going to be much easier to watch NFL games online this year.

The league is finally dropping a requirement that viewers sign in with a cable or satellite subscription, in hopes of expanding its online audience at a time when TV ratings are declining. Though there are restrictions - no free streaming on smart TVs, for instance - the move marks a significant departure for sports

I side with the owners on the rule.  I mean geez, a billion dollars doesn't get you as far in today's world as it did 20 years ago.  NFL owners need to eat too!!!  Why make only $1,000,000,000 when you can make $1,000,100,000 instead ?

Not 'zackly blacked out, but this afternoon, after the primary market game (HOU vs NE) was over, "contractual obligations" prevented CBS from showing the OT game @ CLE.
Seems rather archaic....
