From the DOPE Sheet:

( MM is just really really really lucky )

Green Bay has a 13-1 mark (.929) against the Lions under Head Coach Mike McCarthy.

Under McCarthy, the Packers are 6-1 (.857) in the game following the bye, which is tied for No. 1 in the NFL over that span.

Green Bay has won its first game after the bye each of the last four seasons, outscoring its opponents 126-61 in those contests. That included a 26-0 win vs. Detroit in 2009 and a 31-3 victory at Minnesota in 2010

Since 2009, Green Bay is 26-9 (.743) overall after the bye.

Β·  Mike McCarthy: 81-44-0, .648, (incl. 6-4 postseason); 8th NFL season

Β·  Jim Schwartz: 25-44-0, .362, (incl. 0-1 postseason); 5th NFL season

MM has led the Packers to playoff appearances in five of his seven seasons at the helm, and the team’s five postseason berths over the past six seasons are the most by an NFC team.

Led Green Bay to 47 regular-season victories from 2009-12, the 2nd most in the NFL over that span and the second most in franchise history over a four-year period.

Became the first Packers coach since Lombardi to lead the team to a championship game in his second season (2007).

Since ’06, Green Bay has a 32-10 overall record (.762) in NFC North games

(No. 2 in the NFL) and an 18-3 mark (.857) at home (No. 2 in the NFL

The Packers have won eight straight regular-season games at home

and 21 of their last 22 (.955). Green Bay’s current home winning streak

ranks No. 3 in the NFL behind Seattle (10 games) and Denver (nine).

The Packers have won 18 of 21 NFC North games at home under McCarthy, which is the No. 2 home divisional mark in the entire NFL

The Packers have averaged 7.26 yards on first down this season, good for  No. 1 in the league

Green Bay has posted 78 first downs in its first three games, an average of 26.0 per game that ranks No. 2 in the league this season

The Packers have posted at least 23 first downs in each of their last five

regular-season games, the longest streak by the team in franchisehistory

The Packers have scored 96 points in the opening three games, a 32.0-

point average that ranks No. 2 in the NFL

Green Bay ranked No. 5 in scoring in 2012 (27.1), the sixth consecu-

tive campaign (2007-12) that it finished in the top 10 in the league in

scoring. The Packers were joined by New England as the only teams to

accomplish that feat over the past six seasons

The Packers have scored at least 22 points in every regular-season game

at Lambeau Field over the past two-plus seasons, a stretch of 17 games

home since 2011

Green Bay ranked No. 3 in the NFL red-zone TD percentage (68.1) in

2012, converting on 32 of 47 opportunities

In 2011, the Packers ranked No. 1 in the NFC and No. 3 in the NFL

in red-zone efficiency

Since 2009, Green Bay has turned the ball over only 75 times, which ranks

No. 2 in the NFL over that span

The three best giveaway seasons in franchise history have come under

Head Coach Mike McCarthy’s direction

The Packers and the 49ers were the only teams in the NFL to have at

least four zero-turnover games each of the past four seasons (2009-12)

McCarthy won his 75th career game (including playoffs) at Detroit in

Week 11 of 2012, tying Kansas City’s Andy Reid for the fastest to 75 wins

among active NFL head coaches

Green Bay has finished in the top 10 in the league in turnover differential

each of the past six seasons (2007-12), the only team in the NFL to accomplish that goal

I could go on and on, but what's the point ?

We have posters who will continue to question his playcalling and game management from a position atop their Tower of Ignorance.

To them I say this:

You don't know jack diddly squat about calling an NFL game or managing an NFL team on Gameday. Because if you did, you wouldn't make asinine posts like the ones above.

It is the height of arrogance and hubris to suggest you know better.

Most of the teams/coaches in the NFL can't do better.

Read that again. Let it sink in

Its not my job to disavow you of these delusions of grandeur, its your job and you're ****ing up big time.

Please take the time to go learn some facts so you can make a viable contribution to X4, we're all set on emotional tripe for the foreseeable future

Thanks

Mike McCarthy certainly ain't perfect, but precious few have done better over the last 8 years & even the legendary Billy B has 1 less ring than MM since 2006...

Go Packers

Got this from a great friend of mine who works for the Paper Valley Inn. Said he saw it on GB TV. 3 games, 3 screens, 30 yards per, average 10 yards per play.

We're calling too many screens. Coaching 101 calls for abandoning plays that work.

And who cares about pressure on AR.

My point about screen plays was specific to the Bengal game. Cincy was pretty much committed to man on man press coverage with a deep single safety. They didn't change much even after Finley went on the shelf. Given the Bengals speed at LB is in line with AJ Hawk it seemed reasonable to think a steady dose of screens while the DB's ran with 3 wide outs made sense.

No idea if GB has only run 3 screens this year but I'm pretty sure the screen to Lacy in SF went for 33 yards.

Just beat Detroit and get/stay healthy.
