LMAO @ "terribly irritating"!
Are you still using Netscape?
I've never heard or read Bayless' work first hand. But from the article, I'd say the sub title for his opera would be "Autism Speaks".
I'll be honest, I really thought Bayless' schtick was a total phoney act. It sounds like he is no phoney, just amazingly stubborn.
I don't hate or even dislike the man, but I've always had a hard time relating to people that can't admit they are wrong and Skip is habitually wrong.
I guess I don't have the capacity to "get" Bayless. That story read to me like an explanation for why he's an asshole.
And how could you ever trust anything he has written? I'd imagine his books being similar to "dramatized for television" programming. Maybe stories or thoughts that are based on fact with added embellishment, perhaps.
And just in case he's wrong, what we need to remember is that it's not important to be right, it's more important to "win" a debate (even if it's in your own mind, apparently).
Timmy, You're last sentence is almost the scripture according to Skip.
"And just in case he's wrong, what we need to remember is that it's not important to be right, it's more important to "win" a debate (even if it's in your own mind, apparently)".....According to Skip reads:
"It matters not if I'm wrong, what we need to remember is that it's more important to be questioned, most important is to "spark" a debate (even if in your own mind, it's pointless).
So we have a media whatnot.
Writing an article about a media douchebag.
Who the the whatnot decided was worth writing an article about explaining how the generally decently informed populus loathes the douchebag.
Poor beggar looking for clicks?
It surprises me not.
This thread serves to support bad journalism.
I came to warn or remind you.

I don't listen to a thing Baseless says. I have him on ignore.
Constipated?
Hard to take anyone very seriously that still believes Tebow is an NFL QB.
I loved a few years back when he made some sort of statement of how good a high school basketball player he was & it came out that he barely played. Quoted his teammates as saying that he was a talented point guard, but the coach wanted someone who didn't turn the ball over & didn't just want to make great plays....explains why he loves Favre so much & hates AR.
Constipated?
Bayless reminds me of Rush Limbaugh and similar radio hosts. They make outlandish controversial statements just to spark interest in their show and have more people tune in. It's all about the ratings not the truth.
exactly. it's all about trying to create debate, substance of debate be damned, and staking his opinion to one side or the other. the conclusion doesn't matter, it's all about the barking.
I kinda felt bad even providing the link but did it because of all the "lifestyle" stuff about him. who the hell eats the same thing every freaking nite of the week and orders it 5 days in advance? that's warped as hell but, then again, so is he. I haven't seen or heard the guy's show ever and never will. Knew he was a blowhard when he was covering the cowgirls.
Bayless doesn't only feels that he needs to be right, but he hedges everything to make sure he is, in his mind. He picked the Patriots to win it all this year, but uses every excuse to say "if this happens". When he is wrong (which he is a lot), he uses terms like "they backed/lucked into it", "if they would use Tebow correctly, he would be a starter", etc.
He also always downgrades the people who are considered to be the best in their sport (i.e. Rodgers, Tiger, Lebron). This is where I think it's an act to just be confrontational. I laughed earlier this week when he thought Mathews should have been ejected for his hit, but didn't think Mangold's hit on the knees out of bounds on the last play of the Pats/Jets game was a big deal. He's just a dick.
Skip may be a dick, but you have to give him credit. He looks like a weasel and knows next to nothing about sports, but he's being paid million of dollars by a TV sports network to offer his opinions.
