Why the Cowboys don't suck:

I heard on one network, maybe ESPN [not sure], that Goodell wants 50 million dollars a year, a private jet for life and insurance for his family for life.  Jerry wants ALL of the owners to decide, not just 7. He has 17 owners right now and needs a total of 24.

If what ESPN [or whoever] said is true, Goodell needs to be stopped.

In the Super Bowl era the Packers do not have 5. The Packers have been around since 1920 or 1921 and the Cowboys since 1961, so since 1961 the Cowboys have more than the Packers.

Oh, Catts (she Catts). You are either becoming senile, have been sampling too much catnip, or you are just trying too hard to ignore the obvious.

You're effing wrong.

Since 1960 (not 1961; the Cowboys were 0-11 in 1960. And you call yourself a Cowboys fan? Every Packers fan worth their salt knows the Packers were formed in 1919, and joined the NFL in 1921), the Green Bay Packers have won 7 NFL titles. The Cowboys 5. Your quote above is patently false.

I will slow it down, and show you the error of your ways.

The year is 1960. The Dallas Cowboys are established on January 28 of that year. 1960 is their first year in the NFL. The Packers, obviously, are already in the league. Completely overlooking their Six World Championships already in the hopper, the Packers still have won more titles since the Cowboys came into the league. And you know damned well that if the Cowboys had won a title from 1960 until the time the Super Bowl was first played, you'd be counting it. So, don't give me that "it wasn't the Super Bowl" BS.

Here we go. Ya ready? Ya got your cankles elevated?

1961. December 31, the Packers win the NFL Championship beating the Giants 37-0.

Packers 1. Cowboys 0.

1962. December 30, the Packers win the NFL Championship beating the Giants 16-7.

Packers 2. Cowboys 0.

1965. January 2, 1966. Packers win the NFL Championship beating the Browns 23-12.

Packers 3. Cowboys 0.

1966. January 15, 1967. After beating the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL Championship Game, the Packers win the first NFL-AFL Super Bowl (aka Super Bowl I), beating the Chiefs 35-10.

Packers 4. Cowboys 0.

1967. January 14, 1968. After beating the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL Championship Game (again!), the Packers win the second NFL-AFL Super Bowl (aka Super Bowl II), beating the Raiders 33-14.

Packers 5. Cowboys 0.

1971. Cowboys win Super Bowl VI, beating the Dolphins 24-3.

Packers 5. Cowboys 1.

1977. Cowboys win Super Bowl XII, beating the Broncos 27-10.

Packers 5. Cowboys 2.

1992. Cowboys win Super Bowl XXVII, beating the Bills 52-17.

Packers 5. Cowboys 3.

1993. Cowboys win Super Bowl XXVIII, beating the Bills 30-13.

Packers 5. Cowboys 4.

1995. Cowboys win Super Bowl XXX, beating the Steelers 27-17.

Packers 5. Cowboys 5.

1996. Packers win Super Bowl XXXI, beating the Patriots 35-21.

Packers 6. Cowboys 5.

2010. Packers win Super Bowl XLV, beating the Steelers 31-25.

Packers 7. Cowboys 5.

The Packers have won seven World Championships since the Cowboys entered the NFL. The Cowboys have won five.

Seven is greater than five. So, suck it.

Oh, and in NFL Championship Games, since the Cowboys entered the league, Green Bay is 7-2, losing only the 1960 title game to the Eagles, and the 1997 Super Bowl to the Broncos. That's a .778 winning percentage in NFL title games.

The Cowboys? You've lost three Super Bowls. You're 5-3 in NFL title games (technically, it's 5-5, if you count the two times Lombardi's Packers roflstomped the Cowboys), but we'll just go with 5-3. You have a .625 winning percentage in NFL title games.

We have more NFL Championships, and a better overall winning percentage in NFL title games since the Cowboys entered the NFL.

And you haven't even even been the the NFC Championship Game since 1995. 21 years of ineptitude. Including 1995, we've been to six NFC Championship Games.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I’d put Jerry Jones hatred of Goodell at a solid 94.

Jerry is going to do everything in his power to sink Goodell given his team is not very good without Zeke.

I think Kraft has as huge a boner for Badell as does Jerruh.
On the outside he smiles, shakes his hands, and makes all nice with Roger. On the inside, he is plotting his death by the most inhumane method he can imagine.
So I think he (silently) supports Jones' efforts to F with Roger, and encourages some of the other old(er)-school owners to do the same.
I wouldn't even be surprised if Benson still harbors some ill will against Goodell.

So Catts.  I take it you are so unliked globally that you have no cowboy forum to hang out in?

Why bother to come here, or is it to just hope to hold your insecurities firm?

Because you started a Cowboy's thread and it lured me in like a can of Friskies. Why did you start a Cowboy's thread on a Packer's site????

DAMMIT CATTS BECAUSE THE COWBOYS SUCK! GET IT THRU YOUR THICK HEAD!!!!!!!

Martellus Bennett is active for the Pats tonight. So if you don’t mind me saying. Robert Kraft can choke on a huge bag of dicks.

I don’t mind at all. Allow me to grab a beer, and pull up a chair. You can say it for the remainder of the 4th quarter, and I’m Kool and the Gang.

Back up LT. Jerry is going to talk about who wasn’t able to play today. He’ll most certainly want to talk about that.

I know you’re referring to Sleazy E, but he’ll also likely bring up the loss of Sean Lee, their left tackle Tyron Smith, and kicker Dan Bailey. I’m sure y’all don’t get all the Jones quotes up north, but he’s very sly when it comes to floating excuses for his team’s performance issues (as is Dtephen Jones). The media down here will be all over the excuses, but they conveniently gloss over things like the Packers beating the Boys in the playoffs last year-in Dallas, and following a bye, without Jordy Nelson, Eddie Lacy, James Starks and Sam Shields (off the top of my head). They just wanted to whine about the refs, and were still complaining about the Dez non catch from the last playoff loss.

maybe Baddall wants out.   So, by demanding all this now, he guarantees a decent buy out of his contract?

I think we all would benefit in that scenario and I wouldn't be surprised if he was doing that.  I know if I was Goodell I would try anything to weasel my way out of that job.

I am sure that Jerruh doesn't have much love from the other owners but I would be shocked if he is forced to sell that team.  Plus I want him in charge he makes money for the league and wins a playoff game once a generation.

I have to agree with Jones on this one.  IMO Goodell has been bad for the league and it's hard to figure out why most owners are so enamored with him.  The TV ratings have dropped.  Tons of no-shows at games across the league.  Multiple advertisers not happy.  Networks having to give away free ad time.  Crazy discipline policy that has the potential to cause labor problems down the line.  Pretty much universally hated by fans across the league.  I think anybody else that would have work results like this would be getting ****-canned.  Why the majority of NFL owners seem willing to give this guy nearly 50 million dollars per year is beyond belief.

Only thing I can think of is that the owners are so impressed that Blank swindled 700 million dollars out of Georgia taxpayers (was originally advertised as 200 million) and are giving Goodell a big chunk of the credit for that.  However, politicians are so willing to throw money at professional sport franchises these day, it's hard to say that the con artists on the league's end really make any difference in all of this.

For the most part Goodell does with the owners want, and that includes player conduct issues. The owners and to a degree the networks are at fault for the ratings issues.

A great jazz drummer once told me: Less, is more. That applies here too.

Don't think for a minute they aren't in bed together. The league has been a leech on every new stadium deal over the last 5-10 years (at least), having their hands in the pie from property acquisition and design to financing and construction, and everything in between.
Then when a SB is announced for these new stadiums, here they come again, extorting and extracting their 'price' for bestowing this honor upon them.

Goodell has been a great commissioner for the current owners from a corporate viewpoint. He has 'made' a tremendous amount of money for them, the league, and the teams.
But he is a poor Field General. He's been a public relation nightmare since at least the Ray Rice fiasco, if not before. His player conduct punishments have been wildly assessed and have been largely unsuccessful when appealed, and is considered a failure by players and owners (IMO).
There has been a veritable chitstorm of issues pelting them in the last few years, from concussion, domestic violence, DUIs and other off-field issues, including coaches and owners as well as players, the PED investigation, and all the bullcrap surrounding deflate-gate. Now comes the anthem/kneeling stuff, falling ratings, sponsor unhappiness, and Goodell's contract extension for good measure.
