XFL Baby!!

Report: Winston Moss to coach XFL team in Los Angeles

Winston Moss had an unceremonious exit from his last coaching job, getting fired as associate head coach of the Packers during the season and then taking some shots at Aaron Rodgers on his way out the door. Maybe the XFL likes having coaches that brash.

Moss has been hired as the head coach of the XFL’s Los Angeles franchise, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The 53-year-old Moss is a Miami native who played college football for the Miami Hurricanes, and most of his coaching experience was in Green Bay. But he does have a connection to Los Angeles, having played for the Raiders from 1991 to 1994, when they were in Los Angeles.

Moss’s only head coaching experience was at the 2016 Pro Bowl, when he coached the team that was originally supposed to be coached by Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, who pulled out with an illness

Also says a lot that he got no offers to stay in the NFL even as an assistant somewhere as well. Many of MM's assistants remain unemployed. Or took the only offer they had at GB East (Cleveland).

Rightly or wrongly, tells you a lot about the leagues opinion of the MM regime.

I think MM is going to struggle mightily to get another HC gig.  He may land an OC job but I think QB coach more likely.

If only GB would have gotten rid of his ass 5 years ago.  Crazy thought.

Meh.
I'm not holding any grudges. Hell, I'd likely stay on my job if my boss wasn't apt to fire me even if I was performing poorly, as well.
Best of luck to him. I suspect in the end, this will be little more than an additional line in the 'work history' section of his resume, but whatever. Just as long as he stays away from Green Bay.

Unless, of course, he gets a position with a division rival....

With all we "know" about MM now you gotta wonder about that "illness".

His bizarre press conference should have been disqualifying. The fact that MM continued to keep him on staff after it is just another stain on his legacy.

I think he got the job because of his press conferences and interviews. He'll fit right in at the WWE.
