Boy, are the Brewers playing like crap right now.
But leading 5-4 in the 7th.
Not anymore.
Until they fix the pitching, theyâre a .500 team or worse.
Since the 8-2 start at the beginning of the year thatâs basically what they are.
Losing Wahl and Knebel to injuries are/were a big deal. Chacin regressed and Burnes and Peralta havenât made the leap. Jeffress also missed time and doesnât seem to have the same zip on his fastball.
You add all that up and it tells the story.
The real question is would a couple of moves to bolster the pitching make this team a real contender this season? If Stearns doesnât think so they may just let it ride.
Just really sad to see. The Brewers are sucking it right now. You cannot win without pitching, and we needed an Ace LAST YEAR! Nelson, our Ace, was never replaced. Why we let Miley walk to HOU is beyond me. Agree, the Knebel loss was crushing for the pen, and he never was replaced, either.
They MUST add pitching, or the Cain, Yelich, Moose, Grandal signings were all for naught. Is that what Attanasio wanted? Or, does he want a World Series Championship? The dream is lost without pitching.
If theyâre going to let it ride, start selling. Jeffress, Moustakas, Arcia, even Gamel, if Aguilar gets hot sell high... pull the plug and start on 2020 with some pitching acquisitions in the off season. They had a shot last year. This year theyâre regressing, so set up 2020 and donât waste the assets on lost years. Get something for them because they canât afford to bring them all back anyway.
Tonight they got pitching but no hitting.
Back to back to back doubles in the 8th by Moose, Aguliar, and Huria give the Brewers the lead.
Tied now. Brewers are awful right now.
But now a walk and sloppy defense lets the Giants tie it up.

I agree the bullpen is just awful right. Go for it in 2020.
