They are a 1 seed so everyone is going to be gunning for them.  I would expect nothing less than the other teams best effort.

The good news is (including Michigan State) they have not played at their own best yet have won.  At some point things will come around.

I expect Bo will have these guys ready.  The Badgers looked a little tired.

R E L A X.......Bo will get the lads back on track.   IMO Frank needs to shoot some long shots instead of driving every time into the middle.  Last nite he did not take a 3 and every time he put it on the floor they were able to either double him or force him where THEY wanted him to go.

What is TJacks status....sure could use another guy in the rotation, even for short minutes.

make a guy go to his off hand.  Someone needs to alert these coaches about this untapped strategy.  Next thing you know, "don't turn it over" will become a thing as well.

Gline brought up Showy.  I want to reiterate, that was his best minutes as a Badger.  He's not the defender Bronson or Jackson are, but he did his part (watch Dukan sometime, he misses assignments so much his coach should just sit down and tell him to follow his assignment).  Hitting those two shots really helped keep things going in the right direction.  I don't want Showy shooting much, but when he is that wide open he should have a green light (coach probably told him to make that shot also).

I wanted to mention Showy as well. He was huge in that game.

The thing to remember is that all of the top 5 teams have looked poor more than once this year. You just can't make it a habit. Come back strong and dominant in the next game. NC is a good team, but it is up to Bucky if they win or lose. NC can't beat UW playing its best game.

The Badgers will win if other teams go to this strategy. I'll take my chances with Koenig.

The problem is that if Koenig is in foul trouble (like last night), then it's Showalter that has to beat them. I know Showalter was effective yesterday, but including last night he's 2 of 14 from 3 for the year. If Koenig is out, it also forces Gasser to the point. Gasser is a good spot up shooter, but he's not as effective in a drive and kick situation as Koenig is. The Badgers go to play on offense is to run pick and roll at the top of the key with Koening and Kaminsky. Koening turns the corner and gets defensive rotations going which eventually frees up Dekker or Hayes for favorable matchups or wide open looks.

This is where having Traevon Jackson available even for 8-10 minutes could be huge. He can drive and dish in those pick and roll situations. I think Koenig is better than Jackson, but Jackson is light years ahead of Showalter.

The way the national media is spinning things, if Wisconsin moves on to play Arizona, they have no chance. Even the game against NC is being billed as a bunch of high effort guys going up against NC's athleticism.

Nobody ever says it, but it's like a lot of these commentators seem to think that no team that plays that many white guys can be that good. That's what I got out of Webber's comments during the game where he focused a lot of the positives on Nigel Hayes. Kaminsky flexed his muscles WHILE RUNNING BACK ON DEFENSE at the end of the game and they were criticizing him for scoring over a guy "15 inches shorter." Some of these other "more athletic" guys pose after dunking and don't get back on defense and they continue to praise them for their intensity.

If Sam Dekker were a black guy, they'd show montages of his dunks and rave about how a 6'9" guy can handle the ball, shoot 3s, drive to the basket, and do highlight reel dunks. Kaminsky is 7 foot tall and brings the ball up the court against the press. Bronson Koenig is criminally underrated. Koenig reminds me of a college version of Steve Nash (and not just because he's white).

They may get beat in the next couple of games, but it won't be because of lack of athleticism.

I thought this criticism of Kaminsky was light, but was also utter BS.

Might it be that Kaminsky didn't flex because he dunked over a guy much shorter and instead did so because through what was often a tightly contested game, he pretty much knew that play just sealed it?

I'd go with the latter reason, myself.

I agree Trump. The Fab5 were the epitome of cool 20 years ago. Nevermind that Chris Webber would have gone to jail for perjury except that Martin died before it came to that. Or that Jalen Rose was caught in a house with drug deals going on, but that the police lost his ticket.

Or that Webber and Howard were under investigation multiple times when they played for the Wizards.

It bugs me that these guys end up as commentators on national TV (just like Michael Irvin and Ray Lewis).

Webber's criticism is why you don't put NBA ballers as college commentators. They will always put themselves up against what they see. And don't think that race doesn't play into his comments on Kaminsky. Webber has aways toed that line. I'm glad I wasntbthe only one who noticed. I was getting more than a little irritated by the constant bashing...
