A wildfire that started Wednesday afternoon on the edge of Chico grew in less than 12 hours to the largest fire of California’s season, and now is estimated at 164,000 acres.

It's up to 400,000 acres and about 12% contained.
It started because some asshole lit a car on fire and pushed it down a 60 foot ravine. They caught him....but I'm just beside myself with anger 🤬

Some may not believe this, but stupid people do stupid things. All the time. Everywhere.
Yup idots abound….last Friday I was coming home from my daughters home in Redondo Beach , Ca. We drove as far as 30 miles east of Barstow, about 150 or so mile from Vegas when we ran into a massive 6 mile traffic jam. After about 2 hours we got to an off ramp and we’re directed back to Barstow all this in about a temp of 105. Got back to cell reception, called the local CHIPS office and got no plan about reopening the 15. We changed plans and headed east on the 40 only to run into more accidents and lots of construction. On the 40 it took 6 hours to go 100 miles. It turns out the 15 was closed due to a lithium battery truck crash and the entire northbound lanes were closed for almost 2 days. It was a nightmare in 110 degrees. We left the beach at 7am and left Cali at about 9 pm, a trip that should be about 5 hours. You can read about it and see a news clip below. All because of some idot trucker.

It was unbelievable, our AC kinda conked out after idling for what seemed like hours and we had to turn it off. We soaked a towel in our cooler and dripped cold water on our head and neck for relief.
We did the Joads trip eastward.
You can't use water on lithium-ion batteries and have to just let them burn out? Now there's an invention waiting to happen!
