It's time this cat gets his own thread. This block is ridiculous.

The Packers likely found their next RT of the future. Unreal this was a 3rd stringer on the team.

Another Gute Get...

Bakh got a contract for 4 years and 92 million last year. He missed 4 games last year and the Packers were 3-1. They are 11-3 right now in a year where he probably won't play all year.

It made complete sense to everyone to prioritize his signing last year. HOF-level left tackles aren't a dime of dozen, but they are 14-4 without him. Both Jenkins and Nijman have been more than serviceable there.

You could say they should have used the money on D. Adams. He's a HOF-level WR. Well in the MLF era, the Packers are 7-0 in games he misses.

They used some money on Aaron Jones. He's missed 3 games (and went out with the game still in the balance against the Seahawks this year) in the MLF era and the Packers have won 3 of those 4.

AR12 has shown to be a complete diva this past year and the Joe Rogan crap is just embarrassing, but he's a large part of the reason the Packers can keep losing All-Pro level guys and still win at a high pace. MLF is able to overcome things MM couldn't, but it's because he fully utilizes AR12's skills in the game plan and Rodgers' presence covers up so many warts from play-to-play that it makes it look like the OL is better than the overall talent, or that Lazard is an NFL-caliber starting WR.

They need to extend him. Now, if he could just somehow be on the field for special teams......

It would be.  Unfortunately, at such a premium position, Nijman's services are going to be in demand.  He may end up too expensive to keep.  We're lucky to have him for now though.

I think that’s the reason they’d move on from Turner. It’ll save much needed cap room.

Can Yosh be tendered ? Or is that an option for undrafted player which I believe he is?

Reason # 2746 why I'm not an NFL GM:
I had try to 'cut' Yosh in the last couple years when making roster predictions. To my eyes, he was a PS-level player who just wasn't going to develop, and if we got to see him during pre-season, he just didn't look ready.
When he had to sub in for Jenkins' injury, I was expecting to see visions of Barclay for the rest of this year.

To say I was wrong would be an understatement.

MLF, Adam Stenavich, Gutey, AR.  Good combo.

Don't forget Uncle Milt, who was responsible for Jenkins.  He was also a long term scout for the Ravens.

Nijman has been good but I don't think he's a finished product.  He's gotten a decent amount of help, which was necessary, but he's obviously making really good progress.

I think the super star contract you guys are talking about is a bit much but I see him a lot like Billy Turner at the moment and that is no small thing considering how well Turner has played this year.

I think you let Turner walk and your starting five next year is:

Bahk, Jenkins, Meyers, Runyon, Yosh.

You got Newman at swing guard and Braden still under contract.   You fill the other spots with mid round prospects.  If one of the prospects isn’t a center you got Jenkins who can fill in or you work with Runyon.   I don’t trust mullet head to be able to handle the checks and calls with Rodgers.

The only thing about that line up is the lack of versatility outside of Jenkins.  Yosh doesn't strike me as a guy that could play inside.

Nijman has managed to stick around despite some thinking he would never be more than a career backup -- if that. He's proven to be much, much better. In the clip linked earlier, you can see how well he goes from blocking the man inside to turning and hitting the outside guy in a split second and excels at both blocks. That's impressive.

Stenavich deserves so much credit for Nijman's development and for the entire OL. I don't know if he ever wants to be a head coach, but I would hate to see GB lose him.

We always knew he was an athlete and he looked good in the preseason. Still, how many times do we see guys like Yosh break through? Almost never:

This. Bak is often on an island and holds up against anyone. Nijman has shown he needs a good deal of help. It'll be interesting to see where he, Newman and Van Lanen end up.
