âSmith Brothersâ , maybe they need to have beards.
On social media yesterday there was a ton of bed wetting by Packers fans because they hadn't done anything yet. I told them trust Gute he will do it and do it smartly.
Billy Turner of the broncos has also signed.
Za'Darius Smith deemed most underrated free agent by PFF
Pro Football Focus ranked Smith as the most under the radar free agent this off-season. He graded out at 71.7 on their scale this season.
"Itâs setting up to be a deep edge class, which makes Smith that much more appealing on the open market. The other edge-rusher out of Kentucky in 2015, the former fourth-rounder passed up Bud Dupree in a big way this season. Smith notched 60 pressures, the 17th most among edge defenders in the league. He doesnât offer too much in the way of run defense, but hey, itâs 2019."
Through his first three seasons in the league, he has recorded 74 tackles, ten sacks, two forced fumbles and three pass deflections. He saved his best for a contract year. He recorded 45 tackles, 8.5 sacks, a forced fumble and two pass deflections this season.

Overkill? Nah, grab another edge in the draft and have real depth for once.
Piece I read implied that Smith was the guy the Packers wanted in the fourth but Baltimore grabbed him seven spots earlier and they ended up with Jake Ryan instead.
While not quite Emmett Smith/Darrell Thompson that's still an ugh!
Contract year hero? I'll take a wait and see on this Smith.
Three of the free agents the #Packers struck deals with today were 2015 #NFLDraft picks: OLB Za'Darius Smith (4th), S Adrian Amos (5th) and OLB Preston Smith (2nd). With ILB Jake Ryan a free agent, Green Bay currently has zero picks from their '15 draft class still on the roster.

Payin' the price for that disastrous '15 draft.

Best part about these moves...makes Packers able to take BPA at every spot. No longer do they need to draft for need.

Let's not forget Uncle Milty in this get-down.
Milt Hendrickson, the Packers' new director of football operations, surely vouched for Smith. Hendrickson was part of the personnel department in Baltimore that drafted Smith in 2015.

Yes, but also making things right, too...there's always risk in free agency, but I really like the three defensive additions. These are good, solid players.
Green Bay Packers spending on non-Green Bay free agents (per Spotrac) -- 2011-18: $127.9m million March 12, 7am CST to 11:30am CST, 2019: $183 million
