Best part about these moves...makes Packers able to take BPA at every spot. No longer do they need to draft for need.

They still need a S, ILB, TE, slot WR, OL, RB and another OLB. They reduced the immediacy of the needs at OLB, S and OL but they are all still there. Hell I should have thrown DL in there too. Daniels is getting long in the tooth and his production has backed up his mouth. Other than Clark I don't think GB has a good DL at all.

This is kinda funny...

S Savage

ILB Summers, Boltin

TE Sternberger

SWR Shepherd

OL Jenkins, Nijman, Williams

RB Williams

OLB Gary, Ramsey

DL Keke

ATM, pretty fricken cool! Every player listed either through draft or UDFA is better than what we had last season. I think you were right too. We needed ALL of that. I'm thinking 4 UDFAs make this roster in Nijman, Shepherd, Ramsey and Boltin. All of them highly skilled with huge upside and tough as F.

Nice add to Z, Preston, Adrian and Genie...

I concur, and "absolutely nothing" is an extreme view. Look what they've done in the past at college and pros, compared to the stiff we know named Spriggs and the fool Kentrell Brice.

Another opinion based on absolutely nothing.

Ha! Maybe look at some stats... maybe watch some video on how they actually played, not highlights, but game tape. Compare info to other players. Hey, if you don't get into it, fine. I do. Research is not "absolutely nothing," but I appreciate your bitch self.

I agree with YA TITTLE.  "Absolutely nothing" is an extreme view.  I also think the statement "Every player listed either through draft or UDFA is better than what we had last season" is an extreme view.  The facts are, we don't know how any of those guys will perform in the NFL.  They haven't played a regular season NFL game yet - OG Cole Madison included.  There is usually someone who surprises us and does well, and others who disappoint.  But yet, NFL scouts and GMs get to talk to parents, friends, coaches, and the players themselves.  They get inside physical information too.  All this in addition to the game tape we all get to look at.  And maybe they have access to more tape than we do.  Those scouts and GMs, if they care to, can know more about each player then any of us could hope to.  And yet, they STILL don't get it right 100% of the time.  While I think that things look good now, I am reminded of some can't miss picks who didn't do well.  But the point that our GM covered the bases is well taken.

My bad. I didn't realize I was responding to a GM-in-training. I guess I was thrown off by some of your previous clueless takes on players. But by all means, enlighten us on what you gleaned from your extensive film study of Darrius Shepherd.

Kind of cool to hear Pettine talk about this year 2 of his system:

“We spent a lot of time last year with having to shuffle in a lot of different players,” Pettine said earlier this year. “In year one of a system, it’s really hard to get into the graduate-level details of the job. So kind of going through the end-of-year cutups, and you come to the realization we spent so much more time last year on coaching players on what to do and not enough time on how to do it, and that’s usually typical of a year one. . . . We’re looking forward to having guys that are experienced in the system. We have a much better sense of who we are and what our skill set is, what we want to get done."

Here's a film study of Preston Smith and what he brings to the Packers from Jackson Krueger Sports. Very strong player with a lot of moves:

Plus, another insightful film study they did on Adrian Amos. It will be amazing to have some top Safety play in Green Bay again:

Yet another, this time studying Za'Darius Smith:

Za'Darius is going to be special in this defense as well. Disciplined player with freakish ability. I mean, he lined up everywhere as has been mentioned, but to see him at the 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 9 tech, all in one video. Very good studies by JKS. Fun to see.

Probably a good idea -- although I did like Z mocking Ray Lewis with the Ray dance when ray ray said, the Packers don't have any leaders on their defense.

@packerboi said he listened to Baltimore radio & they're all crying they let Z go.

Gutey said they wanted to try & get ONE of the Smith's. They got both & we should be thrilled they did.

Zeefense baby

I think the Bears miss Akiem Hicks & that allows offenses to double & triple Mack. They also don't really have anyone else on the outside.

When you have 2 players that can get after the QB plus guys like Clark & Lowry in the middle....you can't double everyone. That's why the Niner front 7 is so good right now too.

MLF clarified and said they had to be done is a timely manner.

I never cared too much about all these celebrations.  Most of the time they just make a fool of themselves.  Just wait until one of them blows out a knee like that Bucs kicker did years back.

Some of these guys put more effort into their celebration than they do during the play!

Get off my lawn!  In my day the players celebrated 3rd down sacks with a lucky strike on the sideline.
