The Reed comp is good.
That said, I’m skeptical of Burden as a first round pick. He doesn’t look to play that fast or explosive to separate and doesn’t have great size in traffic. Maybe it’s recency bias, but watching him run the gauntlet at the combine left a bad taste as he wasn’t quick and didn’t show as good of body control as expected.
Reed is somewhat limited, as well, but he appeared better in traffic and looked quicker/better on breaks. He also had a larger sample of work downfield. Most of Burden’s targets were short.
Burden did force a number of missed tackles and he’s a little thicker than Reed, but I’m not sure he’s a better version, especially to be taken a round earlier.
