Can't you block individual images in your browser?

The last time those GD snowflakes showed up, that's just what I did, and I haven't seen them this time. (I'm assuming from your post that Boris put them back on the site.)

For what it's worth, I found them obnoxiously irritating too, although that should be obvious considering that I went to the trouble to have the browser block them.
