@MichiganPacker2 posted:1994-1997 Brett Favre is still the best QB I've ever seen other than Mahomes in terms of elevating an otherwise very average team (and even Mahomes has had Kelce). Even better than AR (who was consistently elite for much longer, but I would argue never hit the peaks that Favre did considering who their receivers were). Favre made throws that shouldn't be possible, and during that time had dialed down the idiotic plays because Brunell (who was also a very good QB) had almost taken over for him at some point.
I've said the same. I still remember, in his first couple years, seeing him rifle a ball into what looked to me like a lot of opposing jerseys thinking 'shit!' that it was going to be picked off, only to hit the one Packer within 10yds of the ball. I don't think I fully adjusted to expecting that kind of play until he hit is MVP stride. I didn't have access to his contemporaries at that time so I had never seen a QB routinely throw like that before.
He did throw more INT's but he completed a lot of ridiculous passes. This was often the main element in situations where he seemed to will the team to wins vs opponents they weren't supposed to beat. That was a really fun, cathartic time to be a Packers fan. He seems to have become a loathsome person but no level of duchebaggery will erase those memories.
