The lottery followed the odds completely, so the Bucks will be picking at 10. Here's a mock draft from today from Bleacher Report. The Bucks need shooters more than anything, but Buddy Hield will be long gone. I don't know who the next best pure shooter in the daft is. Do they end up with Ellenson?

Also interesting that Diamond Stone may be in danger of dropping out of the first round entirely.

what?  No Nigel Hayes?

I'd probably take Nigel over Diamond Stone.

If Nigel goes back to school and improves his shooting touch, he'd have a chance of being a late first round pick. He has to be able to hit a 15 foot shot at a minimum and, to really be effective, be able to knock down a 3.

He was a 40% 3 point shooter as a sophomore and 29% shooter as a junior. That's the difference between getting NBA money and playing in Europe. His wingspan being 7'3" makes him more attractive as a defender and if he could hit a corner three he'd be a good fit for a Spurs/Warriors type role player.

I liked what I saw out of Sabonis

It's interesting that sons of former players have gone on to better careers than one might have predicted from their draft position. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Al Horford are examples. Maybe it's just at the forefront this year because of the Warriors, but maybe they are just better prepared to be professionals after hanging around NBA gyms and locker rooms growing up. Sabonis might be the same.

Having spent a fair amount of time this winter in the Spokane area I saw a lot of Gonzaga games and Sabonis was legit.   He's certainly not as big as his dad, but he's a better athlete and has a lot of nifty moves down low.  He also rebounds the ball very well.

I would be totally fine with him or Ellenson.  The Bucks need another big man in the mix and while neither guy is what I would call an enforcer I think both of their games will translate well.
