He's played in 20 games in the NFL. Jones was handed the job and stands at 12-25 career with no guarantee he will be a starter going forward. Inconsistent doesn't equal worst starter in the league. Baker Mayfield is the definition of inconsistent. There are plenty of teams that would be better off with Heinicke at this point, including our own if the measuring stick is Jordan Love.
