Jim Melka…ring a bell? From Punt Pass and Kick to the Badgers..and then the Packers. Apparently an injury kept him out of the league.
All EST times, no? Weird that they played CHI and MIN twice each in a 4 week window. Almost like a series. Had to help breed the animosity.

I believe he led his cell block in HRs, Doubles, and RBI in 6 of 7 seasons. Also organized the “Sunshine Men’s Support Group” ( the one that meets on Mon and Thurs) which is still running through Rehabilitative Services since 1988.

Ironically, I was just looking at my 1978 Packers media guide. Found it in a box in the garage.
Ah yes the good old days. That year may have been the first year I got a media guide as a kid. I was only starting to understand football around that time and it never dawned on me that they were a 5-9 team that year.
Lots of names that are a blast from the past Beverly, Torkelson, McGeorge, Luke, Grey....

And those 4 straight games against the Bears and Vikings were all in different venues for each game.

Yes, I have that guide myself. The rock, was the center then.
And his playing weight was in the 245-250# range.
