…because we need more to do than wait for Rodgers news. Just browsing through some old memorabilia. Take a look at that schedule. 1:00 every Sunday without fail. And then a month of only Bears and Vikings games. A bygone era. And, a sweet Thunderbird.

Jim Melka…ring a bell? From Punt Pass and Kick to the Badgers..and then the Packers. Apparently an injury kept him out of the league.

All EST times, no? Weird that they played CHI and MIN twice each in a 4 week window. Almost like a series. Had to help breed the animosity.
That Melka kid looked like he was going places.

You're too kind.
I didn't know WI and the UP were PP&K powerhouses.

I believe he led his cell block in HRs, Doubles, and RBI in 6 of 7 seasons. Also organized the “Sunshine Men’s Support Group” ( the one that meets on Mon and Thurs) which is still running through Rehabilitative Services since 1988.

Those PPK Pics would make a nice avatar.
isn't that dave hanner on the cover with bart? those were the days!
Ironically, I was just looking at my 1978 Packers media guide. Found it in a box in the garage.
Ah yes the good old days. That year may have been the first year I got a media guide as a kid. I was only starting to understand football around that time and it never dawned on me that they were a 5-9 team that year.
Lots of names that are a blast from the past Beverly, Torkelson, McGeorge, Luke, Grey....

Yup, almost 50 years a Packer!
And those 4 straight games against the Bears and Vikings were all in different venues for each game.

Yes, I have that guide myself. The rock, was the center then.
And his playing weight was in the 245-250# range.
