Derek Sherrod, still out.

Looks like CB Loyce Means has been added to the DNP list. He's not stretching with the rest of the defense.

CB James Nixon, who was hurt at STL, has returned.

later on...

out: Johnson, Cobb, Richardson, Means, Tramon, Tretter, Bulaga, Sherrod, Mulligan, Nelson and Worthy

RBs Harris, Lacy in drills.

Team Period:

Team Blitz:

Datone Jones with a sure sack of Coleman. Beats Hughes around the edge to end blitz period.

Hmmm:

STs:

Pass Rush 1 on 1s:

Mulumba looks strong. Better rusher in this drill than he was 2, 3 weeks ago

7 vs 7:

7-on-7.

Red Zone:

Harrell throws into heavy traffic and it's picked off by Terrell Manning (on scout D).

Working with the scout team, Coleman throws a bullet to D.J. Williams for a touchdown.

DJ Williams hasn't been pleased with his pass catching this camp. Pulls down a high pass from Coleman for TD and is pumped

Coleman still behind Young and Harrell but showing poise, more precise

No Huddle:

Having healthy, better players to play with is better too.

Everyone calls the Niners "physical" because they run the ball.

Everyone calls the Packers "finesse" or "soft" because they throw the ball & can't run it.

That's going to change this season.

Part of playing better is laying the lumber and not shying away from contact, which the defense appeared to do too often last year. Regardless of the reality, the perception exists that if you punch the Packers in the face they don't respond well.

Having Jolly back on the team will bring some much-needed nasty to the defense.

SF had one of (if not the) the healthiest teams last year - unlike the Packers who had one of the more injury riddled teams.  It is easier to look more physical when your best players are always on the field.  Winning like GB did in 2010 is the exception - not the rule.

Exactly-being dominated in the trenches on both sides of the ball the last couple times they played the 9rs and Giants has added to the idea that GB is soft (and rightfully so). Having Rodgers take eleventy billion sacks last year didn't help either.

I hope it doesn't progress to make him done.

Does anybody else remember the poster Nipsey Russel? Brought back memories of his posts.
