Adrian Hubbard had a tipped ball as well.
Packers like long linebackers.

I tried to focus on Pennel and that guy brings some violence to the line, seemed to pretty consistently blow up the guy he was against. Just can't see how they can cut him or Elliott. Going to be some tough decisions come cut down day.

--Other than the TD run, our defense totally stuffed Raiders first team O
--Guys on D who especially "flashed" in first half were Peppers, CM, & House
--Lacy & Harris looked great
--TE Rodgers
-- Elliot, can we really cut this guy?
-
-- AR & his WR's did not look in synch. Either no one open or AR not on target
-- Quarless makes the nice TE catch but on the previous play got blown up trying to block, inconsistent
-- Bak played OK but appeared to forget the snap count on the play where he called for holding, was still in his stance with defender by him
-- penalties
Other than a couple obvious mental errors from Harris I thought he played extremely well. Ran hard and did a very good job in blitz pickup. The team is getting more from both Pennel and Elliot than the middle-round picks Thornton and Bradford and both should make the final cut.
Some of the media and fan hand-wringing over Peppers was getting ridiculous and hopefully that will now die down. The guy's got plenty left and he'll noticeably improve the Packer defense.

No mention of Sherrod?
Difficult to tell if he really played better, very few plays in which he was 1-on-1 with a speed guy trying to rush the edge on him. Would have liked to see him vs. Woodley 1-on-1 more. Bak did OK with Woodley, other than the above mentioned play when he appeared to forget the snap count.
Watching AR for a few drives it really looked like the offense wasn't in any hurry to show much. Looked like GB was really focused on getting the TEs some work last night.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Raiders rookie DB that got a hand on ARs pass to Jordy in the end zone, celebrated a little to much, and AR and Jordy ran an absolute vanilla back shoulder on 4th down and Jordy walked in. A fantastic "take it easy grasshopper" moment.
@PackerUpdate: Raji had ice wrapped around his right arm. If he tore his biceps (just speculation), TT better have Ryan Pickett on a plane by Sunday.
Michael Rodney from PU has had his hate machine to BJ Raji for years now. He has convinced himself he was a bad pick and was irked TT even re-signed him to the bargain deal he did.
And he and his site has morphed more and into:
Earlier he tweeted that after Lattimore got dinged, the Packers ILB was getting "depleted".
Drama Queen much?
He made the tragic discovery that it doesn't matter what type of stupid you puke up on the innerwebs, putting it in the right whiny/Ted's an idiot/I was right/we are doomed tone will be red meat for the droolers. As we all see here, there's no shortage of them either.
Too bad. Used to be a good site. Now it's unreadable.
Not sounding great for Raji. NFL Network's Ian Rapaport, who is usually nails reporting on the Packers, now saying:
@RapSheet: #Packers DT BJ Raji has tests today on his upper arm he injured last night. He was optimistic last night. But not a lot of optimism now.
@RapSheet: The belief is that #Packers NT BJ Raji tore his bicep last night, sources say. Tests will show whether it's fully or partially torn.
p.s. Agree about Packer Update. Too much "I told you so" for my tastes. Nonetheless another info source that you have to consider the good and the bad about when perusing.
OF course...
Re-reading the game thread.
This just goes to show O-Linemen are not plentiful. The fact Barbre still has a job in the NFL, tells all.
Hopefully Sherrod can improve.
At all!
Expect much more of that throughout the regular season.
Re: DuJuan, True, I was pissed at him last week. He made up for it
Re: Lacy/Rodgers, Good luck NFL....you're going to need it.
We're not going to lose very many games this year. I'm calling 13-3 or better right now barring major injuries.
Right & cut Elliot who is our 3rd down pass-rushing specialist & excellent on ST's. Makes sense
this is ****ing bull****.
Barrington and Latimore both looked good against Oakland's #1's.. Pull the trigger already.
why can't we have nice things.
From worse to worser.
@TomSilverstein: Just confirmed Raji tore his biceps from a league source. Fear is it's season-ending.
Can't be Packers football until one of their key starters suffers a season ending injury before the season even begins
Wonder what TT does now. Boyd/Pennel are the other options now. Guion still out with his hamstring injury. May be wise to bring Pickett back. I like what Boyd/Pennel have shown this camp, but they need another guy in the mix to keep everybody fresh.
Gotta have Pickett back & he still wants to play.
God ****ing damnit. Every god damn year. It isn't ****ing fair. Just like losing Bulaga last year
Ray Lewis tore his triceps and missed a few weeks. Yes, he took moose steroids and deer antler extract and lord knows what else. But he was viewed as a hero warrior Super Bowl savior. I expect the same commitment from Raji
Boyd and Pennel. You're up!
Next big question, if this is season-ending: Does TT resign Raji or let him go? Dude was playing well and blowing everything up. So is he motivated to show he can still play after the injury or does he crash again? Last year TT let Raji test the market and there really was none; this year Raji showed he still has something to give.
Will Pennel/Boyd/Pickett?/?? be good enough?
My guess: Bye-bye BJ, no matter the outcome.
I get that injuries will happen, but damn, can they at least make it to the season before a starter goes down
Need to hope they don't have too many more season-ending injuries. They can survive with guys missing a few games here or there. Sucks for Raji since he was looking good this preseason playing back at his natural position. Wonder if he signs another 1yr deal with the team or somebody else after this year
They may very well do a waived/injury settlement with Raji. The lack of any lookers this past off season combined with him being out for the season means he will have even less leverage next year. If he is healthy bring him back then and save a couple million $$$ now. Maybe Pickett or Jolly will get a call from TT. Prefer Jolly if healthy.
Based on what he flashed lining up at NT I dont think there's any question he's back next year.
What Boyd and Pennel do the next 6 months will also have a bearing on that decision.
Maybe Pickett or Jolly will get a call from TT. Prefer Jolly if healthy.
Jolly had/has a neck injury. He's done. Call Pickett NOW. At least he can plug the middle
Losing Raji for the year does suck. The good news is GB still has Hawk and Jones to help secure the middle.
I'm assuming Boyd played series 3-6 on D last night after Raji went out after the second series. Wasn't any noticeable drop off in run defense.
at least he got to play in the "dress rehearsal". These preseason games are really important for development.
Let's see what the other guys bring first before calling Pickett. He's a known factor, and I would want to know who's already on board and how well they can play before calling in a older guy who was part of the problem last year.
Even if they wait until after the last PS game, Pickett can figure it out. And TT may want to see who's going to be cut around the league. But TT should have already texted Pickett and said, "Hope you're not just resting on the couch."
Raji - unreal. Just unreal.
The good news is GB still has Hawk and Jones to help secure the middle.
Ryan Pickett is not anywhere near the top of the #Packers list of replacements at NT. They want to play fast up front. He's too old, slow.
If it is torn bicep for B.J. Raji, what kind of tear will be crucial. Recovery from partial tear typically 3-6 weeks. Full tear 4-6 months.
Absolutely sucks, but yes the kind of tear it sounds like is crucial.
The 49ers Glen Dorsey tore his and is expected back this season. BUT he also had the surgery several weeks ago. He's expected back at the end of the reg season.
Someone blogged that Ken Norton played with one as did Adrian Wilson. Norton made the Pro Bowl that year. And, no. I am not holding my breath this training staff would allow Raji to do the same.
What did Reggie tear before his miraculous recovery.
BJ needs his trainer.
And now this RT @AdamSchefter Packers NT B.J. Raji is out for the season, as many suspected, with a torn bicep.

Gilbert Brown played all of 2003 with a complete tear in his biceps in one arm. He showed a lot of heart by playing that year (easily one of my top five favorite Packers in my lifetime), but the problem was that he wasn't very effective playing with one arm.
just another day in the life, i guess.
Great.
That means torn bicep.
I never noticed Masthay doesn't wear kneepads. He looks like some older kids roughed him up on the way to the game and took his equipment
Gotta have Pickett back & he still wants to play.

I don't think so, he's abig two-gapper and they seem to want to run penetration up-front. I'm guessing they'll stand pat unless someone offers them a trade for a surplus of their own, which I doubt.
