Oh how sweet it would be to host the Vikings on the opener.
per the radio this morning, they want it to be a Sunday night game too... and radio guys figure it'll be the bears. I hate night games to open the season, especially if it's a beautiful sunny day....
- it can't be the queens

Can't. They're opening season vs. Eagles already.
Hope it's not the Bears.
If it must be in division, Lions.
I'd prefer it vs. the Niners, Falcons or Cards honestly. Or 1 of the AFC teams
Gotta believe it will be the Bears.

Maybe the Queens will be week 2. That way the suicide watch can start early in Minnesota after they are 0-2!
Vs. the Bores makes sense from the viewpoint of the 2 oldest teams in league, oldest rivalry, etc. Ties into the 100th anniversary quite nicely.
Can't miss a marketing opportunity like that ^^. Gotta be Chicago. Great storyline about how Rodgers came back from earlier collarbone to beat them in 2013 and send GB to playoffs for fifth year in a row. If it is the Bears, you can bet that 2013 game would be mentioned a bazillion times.
Any decent broadcast would break open the film vault and show a lot of Vince and Papa Bear, those great 60's teams, and HoF players all over the field. The story about how Halas quietly did things to keep the Packers in Green Bay and a viable franchise never gets old, either.
Why do you expect a decent broadcast on today's TV?
Fedya,
You'll probably be watching the game on radio---after you find out what's in Fibber McGee's closet.
Who writes your material?
Buddy Sorrell?
Nice.
I hope the Packers come out with a 100th anniversary jersey ala when they did their 75th. I'll be purchasing of one of those babies if they did...
they were clarifying this like crazy on the radio this morning, it's the 100th season, not anniversary - that'll be next year. a twofer on selling merchandise. I still have one of those 75 patches somewhere...
the Dalai Lama knows football
kinda crazy, the Tibetan monks are in GB visiting St Norberts this week, and Aaron's in India visiting the Dalai Lama... world turning.

My appointed admin isn't doing his job keeping the riff Raff outta the other threads except the Viking Sucks thread.
I'd give the job to you but you might end up deleting most of the threads. 😃
I could use the help. Just cleaning up the FA thread was a full time job.
By the way, I didn't ask for this job, but I am willing to do it. I do have to take care of my real job and family though.
Which is nice.

I don't see a problem here. Teams trade everything else in the NFL; players, draft picks, play books, deflated footballs, etc. They could trade home openers too - right?
For Season 100, the Packers opened and are still at 9/1 for Super Bowl 53 at the Wynn, just behind the Eagles who are at 7/1. I think a lot of people forget the Packers were 4-1 through Week 5 and don’t remember the 4th quarter against the Cowboys
I think I’ll throw down on it and see how it goes. Weird they don’t have a book for the NFC Championship.
Expecting 12-20 inches here in Western WI. I won't even volunteer to drive to the Cities and take them to GB like a couple of dudes did this fall with House.
The 100 seasons patch/logo is the fugliest POS ever.
I was hoping to get a great looking patch to sew (not me) on my personal jersey, opposite the 75th season cool one.
fugliest?
I agree it's very plain - whoever designed it musta been sitting on the crapper while designing. SAAAD!!
Tony Romo: Packers more improved than any other team this offseason
Tony Romo will be calling Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta for CBS at the end of the 2018 regular season and it sounds like he has an idea about an NFC team that could be there for the game.
Romo was in his home state of Wisconsin for his annual football camp last week and was asked about a team he thinks is poised for success this season. The answer made the local crowd happy as Romo said he thinks the Packers “are the team to beat” if their offseason moves in the secondary pay off.
Romo also liked the team’s biggest move on the offensive side of the ball.
“I think the Packers probably got better maybe more than any team I saw this offseason,” Romo said, via WTMJ. “It’s too early, injuries happen and things can happen, but, right now, they’re right at the top for me as far as a team you wouldn’t want to see in the playoffs. The Jimmy Graham thing is a big deal. People don’t understand. You’re going to see old school Jimmy Graham. When you pair him with Aaron Rodgers, you’re going to see a little bit of a different animal. In the red zone, that will be almost unstoppable.”
Romo wasn’t cheered a lot in Green Bay when he was playing for the Cowboys, but Packers fans will be rooting for him to be proven correct on this one.
