I think there has been for a few years now. The season has lengthened a bit, so an extra week of games and a smaller gap to the bowl season is the result. More weeks, slightly fewer games per week nationally, but more tv revenue. It’s ALL about money, the answer to virtually every question.

Yep its all about money and as much exposure a program can get.

The one thing I don't like that the Big Ten has done is taking away the divisions.  So the two top teams will be in Indy every year (assuming it stays in Indy).  I have kind of what is the Big Ten's version of season tickets to that game and I am less than thrilled to see the same 2-4 teams every year.  Yes I know that is more often than not what it is now but its kind of cool being around fans in Indy for their teams never having been there before.
