The NFC North collectively has 14 wins with the Lions on a bye.

2 other divisions AFC West & NFC East each have 11 wins.

No other division is even close.

5 weeks in and nothing changes. 3 teams from NFC North make it into the playoffs....and would it really be unsurprising if it's the Vikings that miss the playoffs?

The NFC North Division has never had a collection of teams this good.

I believe that while the Packers benefitted from beating up on the mostly hapless Lions, the generally wayward Bears, and only occasionally threatening Vikings over the past couple of decades, the lack of competition within the Division has been a negative come playoff time when we've routinely bowed out against teams that had to battle to win their own divisions.

Recall, the Pack did not even win the NFC North when they won the SB in 2010 because the Bears were actually a good team (mostly on defense) that year.

No NFC North team has appeared in a Super Bowl in 13 years and only two teams have gotten there over the past 25 years because the division has generally sucked.

At this point, there appears to be solid management and coaching in Detroit and Minnesota and maybe even in Chicago.

Given all of our recent playoff disappointments, I am looking at the rise of the NFC North as a good thing to make us battle-tested if/when we reach the playoffs.

Oh, and F the Queens.

Things will really start to get interesting once the NFCN teams start playing each other more.  I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if 3 teams from the division make it and the 4th has a decent record but couldn't make it in.
