We play Arizona on the road (and the Niners may have the easiest schedule I've ever come across next season).

1 thing about the Niners....when they lose, they don't lose half-ass.

Never can tell how good or bad a team is going to be next season. Look at the Vikings this year

100% this.

Trying to figure out how good/bad a team will be from one season to the next while the current season is still going on (not to mention before the draft and FA) is really an exercise in stupidity.

Teams that were supposed to be good/very good and/or underachieved that missed the mark this season:

Miami, Jets, Cleveland, Cincy, Houston, Indy, Jacksonville, Dallas, Giants, Chicago, San Fran?

Teams that were supposed to be not very good and/or overachieved this season:

Pittsburgh, Denver, Chargers, Washington, Minnesota, Rams?

The NFC West and AFC South both had very down seasons for all 8 teams, the two divisions the Packers played. And I think most everyone thought the NFC East would be a bit more competitive. So trying to determine the difficulty of next years schedule now doesn't make much sense.

The Niners are paying for the Trey Lance trade. One of the worst personnel misses you will ever see. At least guys like Trubisky, Zach Walton, and a few others actually were good enough to try to play in a game.

The difficulty of the schedule often comes down to when you face a team during a season rather than if.

New Orleans was a juggernaut the first 2-3 games on offense. They scored 91 points the first 2 games and lost to the Eagles by 3 in the third game. Derek Carr made them at least competitive.

Green Bay played SF without Purdy.

This was swept under the rug b/c the 49ers found Purdy and made the Super Bowl last season. But it was as big a miss as the Panthers trading for Young and the 49ers are paying for it this year and will be felt in the next few years.

When's the last time a huge trade up into the top 3 was a smart move? I know the Chiefs/Bills traded up to 10 to get Mahomes and 7 for Allen but those just weren't the magnitude of a trade into the top 3. I keep hearing the Patriots want the top pick so they can get a kings ransom for a team that wants to trade up Sanders or Ward. But I don't see top 5 QB potential in either of them.
