I was at that game.  My toes got so cold by the end of that game I lost feeling in them and feared I'd get frostbite if I stayed there much longer.   I felt sorry for Jeff Hostetler as he got hurt later in the game and was laying on that frozen field for awhile.

Not only was it the birth of the Lambeau Leap, it was also the game that clinched their first playoff appearance since '82.

I grew up near GB and I had never been to a Packers game at Lambeau (I still haven't) but I actually had tickets for free for that game.  But, my grandma passed away and her funeral was the next day so my dad and I gave up our tickets.  I honestly had no desire to sit out in the cold that day and on top of it I had been stationed down south for a long time so I wasn't too crazy about sitting out in -10 temperatures.

Now? I kick myself a little bit when I see the leap on TV.

The "we want the ball and we're going to score" game (15 years from next Friday) was between when my uncle died and the funeral.  I remember worrying the visiting hours would be during the game.  (My mom was constantly bad-mouthing my aunt thinking the aunt was trying to make herself look better, and I had to hold my tongue from telling Mom she was doing the exact same thing.  I want to be cremated and have my ashes scattered with no muss or fuss.)

It's too bad fans can't reject them for real.
It would be just like rasslin'!
The bad guy dares a leap, goes in high with elbows flyin', girded by pads and helmet. But the crowd is ready to counter that move, catch him, and collectively slam him down on his back.

Wow. What a shame, you gotta get to a game. Such a memorable experience.

Like many I assume, I've been spoiled...have been to so many games I've lost count.

Yep it is sad but true but it will be a streak that WILL be broken next year.

I did actually have tickets one other time and it was the Snow Bowl game in 85.  I was home on leave and I was so excited to go except we couldn't make it because we had 2 feet of snow coming down.

That Snow Bowl game was one of the most fun games I ever saw from that awful 1980's era.   Just absolute complete utter domination of a Tampa Bay team that had no desire to be playing football in a near blizzard.  That said... I don't know if I would have wanted to be there in person either.  Travel was pretty much not recommended that day and it probably would have been tough sitting out in that mess for 3 hours.

THis was the last Packer game that I attended in person. I wore about 4 heavy jackets and had 4 layers of long underwear and was still cold. We had brought a jar of Vaseline in with us to wipe on our faces to prevent windburn and it was frozen solid by the time we walked to our seats.

We sat right behind the Los Angeles Raiders bench and you could tell early on they just wanted to get out of there ASAP. I remember Hostetler laying on the turf after hitting his head on the ground.
