good place to spend draft picks, not the best place to spend money
He's not eligible for an extension until after the season, so I assume then. If he stays healthy, I'd give him 4 more years. Yes his style lends himself to injury but he's not carrying the ball 300+ times a year, which is what leads to wearing down before 30. If MM keeps him on a 250 carry pitch count, Lacy can be productive for many years. And 250 carries is what Lacy had last year, which is a reasonable number of carries with Rodgers playing QB.
People may disagree but I think Lacy is special, and he's really going to prove that this year.
Edit: Lacy's PFF page. Last year he was the 7th best runner, 2nd best receiver and 3rd best pass protector at RB. Hard to be that good at every facet of the position.
The challenge is that Lacy and his agent will want a longer contract than the Packers want to offer them.
The money is certainly part of it, but make no mistake - length matters
2nd best receiver? I can think of 10 guys off the top of my head that I know are better receivers. Now what he does after he catches the ball, different story.
Minus Jordy, you will see 27 catching a lot more passes. Screen screen screen.
P.S. I hope it's OK to mention my fantasy team
LACY UNDERALLS?
Our roster is stacked, and I can see why Ted doesn't bring in many FA players from the outside. Helps him to afford signing his own. Can't argue with it.I hope Eddie gets an extension. The guy is great, and good to have a back like him.
If you don't stop, can we report you to the owner?quote:P.S. I hope it's OK to mention my fantasy team
Sounds like a job for Rusty.

$27 mill for 27 years should do it.
pay the man when its time, love me some 27. i also remember vividly when we couldn't make 3rd and inches, now that's a distant memory.
