Granderson would be fine, but they need more pitching. Just another guy to eat up innings and keep games from getting blown open.

The pickup that has helped keep the bullpens arms from falling off has been Miley. For a guy that has been terrible for several years now (he had an ERA of around 5.50 in 62 starts in 2016-2017) he's been a pleasant surprise. He's made 9 starts since coming back in July and goes 5-7 innings every time with no more than 3 earned runs. He was absolutely huge yesterday. Coming off Tuesday and Wednesday evening games where the Brewers used 10 different pitchers (two guys both nights), Miley goes a strong 7+ innings and allows some of the bullpen guys to rest (or at least make shorter appearances). That not only allowed them to win that game, but keeps more guys available for tonight's game.

Stearns making Harry Dalton look quiet.

Obviously depends who they gave up (hopefully not more than a mid-level prospect), but I like the fact he went out and got a couple of more guys that at least have shown in the past they can get some guys out. I didn't want to see us bleed to death in September by trying to rely on Albers, Lyles, and guys like Zagursky get lit up.

Was wondering if Harper striking out in the ninth would make him available in a package deal with Gio Gonzalez?  Oh well Granderson was cheap and may be more productive.

Not knowing these players in the dugout or clubhouse, but sensing Stearns and Counsell have a premium on character.

.I don't care if you loved him, this is great news and brings me joy

We have to really shake up bull pen or this team is done.  Losing Knebel was tough but the Crews took measures rather than plod through his implosion.  Soria to be trusted?  Not after last night.

Should have been a sweep of the Nationals.  BIG series with the Cubs starting tomorrow.  This series could make or break the Brewers playoff chances.  I watched the Cubs/Phillies game today.  The Cubs are hot right now.

Maybe just maybe today was a step in the right direction for the bullpen.  Need some guys other than Hader/Jeffress to step up and today they did bail out Guerra.  Cedeno looks pretty good and Woodruff looked better today than I remember him looking earlier this year.

I haven’t watched a game in 2 weeks.   Listened briefly this aft on radio as my father in law wanted to check in as we ran errands.   That’s it.   Keep preaching though it suits your douchebag style pretty well.   BTW - have the standings changed in that time?  Either Chicago or STL?
