Does a 10-5 finish get you ahead of Cubs? I think it would be tight. 11-4 would feel better, and would be great to start that with minimum 2/3 vs the Pirates at home.
Wouldn't it be sweet to have the Cards/Cubs ending series be an opportunity for the Cards to knock the Cubs to a WC?
Dodgers are right there... and this weekend they have 3 more against the Cards. Then they have 3 against the Rockies... they finish with Padres, DBags, and Giants. They could get 10 or 11 out of that.
If the Cubs arenât careful, theyâll get Kershaw in a winner take all. Or the Cards. Iâd be pretty happy with that either way.
Pirates have a big role to play... 6 against the Brewers, 4 against the Cubs.
The Brewers of course must keep winning- I agree 11 wins will do it, maybe even 10. That could win the division. Cubs pen issues and lack of rest is really taking its toll.
Fun couple weeks of baseball left...
.@Mooose_8, acquired on July 27 from Kansas City, is batting .500 (15-for-30) with runners in scoring position since joining the #Brewers, tops in the National League (minimum 30ab) and trailing only J.D. Martinez (.561, 23-for-41) in the majors.

Brewers at it again in the 1st. 2 run bomb by Yelich and 1 out later Shaw goes deep. 3-0 after 1. In the 2nd Cain robs Pirates of at least a double or maybe a homer with a guy on base and 1 out. What a fun team to watch and cheer for.
Do you guys think Tschmack knows the season isn't over yet?
Travis Shaw.
2nd base savant.
Watt?
Gotta love those 2 run bunts!
I have never seen a bunt double. I have never seen a bunt get 2 RBI either. CC was actually smiling after that play.
Happy for Aguilar to get a key RBI as he's been struggling.
That said, if Counsell decided to go back to more of a righty/lefty platoon system with Aguilar and Thames I wouldn't be against it.
Clint Hurdle is a red-faced douchebag.
That is all.
.500 + 22, all without a true ace starter.
The future's so bright I'm investing in shades.
But I'm still living in the moment.
Hader is kinda like having an ace, at least it helps when you don't have the starter
The Brewers have been playing great ball most of the season with only a few hiccups. Offensively, theyâve been great, and the bullpen too. But the starting pitching is where I think their thin. Theyâve got guys who are not historically that good playing above the career numbers.
Not sold on Miley or Gio. Anderson is hittable. Guerra has not been good in the second half. Chacon has probably been the most consistent, but does he regress to his careers mean in the playoffs. It certainly helps that starters really only need to go 5 innings before the strong pen takes over.
i think the next two weeks and then the NL playoffs will be interesting because thereâs no dominant team or favorite.
Jesus is asleep yet but managed a couple deep flies when needed. He will rise soon. Starters are who they are. Counsell is smart enough to pull them earlier rather than too late. Bullpen is deep for now with hot and cold which is normal. Playoff rosters will reduce numbers in pen making 4-5 inning starts perilous.
Wondering when we see more of Shaw or Braun at 1b. Thames seems lost and if the Reds can't jump start him he may be watching in post season. Great to see Arcia hitting better.
Yes, yes, this happens all the time

Did they sign TJ Watt?
Why is Barnes in?
Tough game. Some key moments 7th thru the 9th and no runs. Need to win tomorrow to maintain big MO.

Um....roller coasters go up some times
Cubs lost so not the worst thing. Regroup start week off right tomorrow.
Brewers had really good situational hitting up to the last week. Leadoff man on 4 straight innings yesterday yet never scored a run. Need to get that fixed somehow.
