There is not a single pitcher you can trust on this staff besides Hader. Peralta and Chacin may be OK as #4-type starters, but minus Jeffress, Knebel, and Miley from the end of last year there are a lot of innings they need to make up.

Jimmy Nelson's return will be big.

To me, Jeffress always brings an air of uncertainty to the game when we need him to close the door on the opposing team. I'm on pins and needles everytime he pitches, but not as much as I was when we had Derek Turnbow in the game. Talk about a wild man!

Hader was filthy.  He had the offspeed pitches working and when that happens he’s unhittable.   I got nervous watching him hit in the bottom of the 8th but oh well.

Always wondered in a situation like that can you just take the out? Like an intentional walk, just decline to even send the guy up for the AB?

The Cubs hitter I fear the most, when the bases have Cubs all over them, is Rizzo. Hader vs Rizzo is always worth watching. Last season Rizzo homered off Hader making Rizzo the first left hander to homer off Hader, ever. The game yesterday provided the same high tension drama until Hader got the best of him.
