No wonder it feels like every pitcher is getting shelled. They are.
Davies and Guerra giving us some optimism about this staff.
Nice outing for Davies. His change had the Dodgers baffled.
Guerra looked good, first career save !!!
This winter when thy talked about Grandal being a better catcher because of his ability to frame pitches I thought it was typical agent hype or Fake News. Is it possible the Y is making a difference especially with guys that throw junk like Davies or Guerra? I thought the strike zone was exceptionally large yesterday.
Why is it so much fun beating the Dodgers?
Guerra actually has OK stuff. Davies is more or less a junk pitcher. Not Alex Claudio type junk (he’s awful), but Davies isn’t running it up there by any stretch. In last Sunday’s game v the Cubs I’m not sure he got higher than 87 on any of his pitches. To his credit though, he’s mixing it up and painting the strike zone.
Thankfully, those two are holding things together while the young guns figure it out.
Junior Guerra starts his MVP bid
Junior Guerra was given beer shower in clubhouse by teammates for recording his first MLB save. How did it feel? "Cold!" he said.

And not to mention he is hitting pretty good!
I think Guerra is taylor made for the pen. Seemed like he was always ok for one time through the line-up. Either the other team would figure out his splitter or it lost effectiveness. I think in relief he will do very well.
Reliever Jeremy Jeffress, who has been on minor-league rehab at @missionsmilb, will join #Brewers in Milwaukee on Monday. Counsell said he'll be activated either that day or Tuesday. Reports are that his shoulder is not an issue anymore.

Is Chacin trying to pull a Chase Anderson one year wonder? He’s been garbage so far this year. Need the pitching to improve.
Chacin's highest ERA last year? March and April.
The year before that? April and May.
Marathon
Chacin was a #3 or #4 starter prior to arriving in Milwaukee
He pitched like a #1 or maybe #2 last year
He’s pitching like a borderline starter this year regardless if it’s April or May or September
The good news is at least he’s not a long term boat anchor contract situation
Chacin is a noted slow starter. I worry about Corbin and Peralta more. Unlike Chacin, they haven't proven they are ready to be starters. Corbin has given up 9 home runs in 3 starts. Ouch.
Feels weird to say this but they are 10-6 and have had a very tough schedule to start but I feel they are underachieving.
