This winter when thy talked about Grandal being a better catcher because of his ability to frame pitches I thought it was typical agent hype or Fake News.  Is it possible the Y is making a difference especially with guys that throw junk like Davies or Guerra?  I thought the strike zone was exceptionally large yesterday.

Guerra actually has OK stuff.  Davies is more or less a junk pitcher.  Not Alex Claudio type junk (he’s awful),  but Davies isn’t running it up there by any stretch.  In last Sunday’s game v the Cubs I’m not sure he got higher than 87 on any of his pitches.  To his credit though, he’s mixing it up and painting the strike zone.

Thankfully, those two are holding things together while the young guns figure it out.

And not to mention he is hitting pretty good!

I think Guerra is taylor made for the pen.  Seemed like he was always ok for one time through the line-up.  Either the other team would figure out his splitter or it lost effectiveness.  I think in relief he will do very well.

Chacin was a #3 or #4 starter prior to arriving in Milwaukee

He pitched like a #1 or maybe #2 last year

He’s pitching like a borderline starter this year regardless if it’s April or May or September

The good news is at least he’s not a long term boat anchor contract situation
