I won't have any problem rooting against him on Sunday. In fact, I hope his tendency to fumble at the most inopportune time makes an appearance.
Just to be clear, it's a wonderful piece and I have nothing but respect for Jones, but the game is the game.
If I were at the game he would get nothing from cheers from me.
Until the game starts. Then I hope you have a Barry Sanders playoff game at Lambeau.
Wow. Just wow. Still waiting for the letter from Duhvante.
What a class act. Nothing but love 33. Just not Sunday.
Jones is took good for the Vikings. He should have went to Cleveland or Arizona.
FTG
I will always appreciate what #33 brought to the Packers and he is without a doubt a very classy individual and seems like a good leader. If I was at the game I would cheer for him pregame once but not once the game starts.
BUT, he now plays for the team that I hate like no other so cannot and will not root for him.
Absolute class act of a human being.
But bidness be bidness.
Go Pack!
Great piece to read. Loved it....
IDGAF....this week is all about beating the Vikings in the best stadium on the planet.
Sentimental hogwash.
AJ is another man who is not 'just a player', he exhibits the qualities of being a good human being.
I also hope that those qualities serves him well in his life after football.

Tough room.
Nice letter. I think he still wishes he were in GB, 3-0 be damned.

What were the differences in the contracts offered from GB and Minny ?

I think it was $5 or $5.5M from the Pack....and Vikings gave him $7M? I think
Aaron Jones' return to Lambeau will be an emotional one.

Acme Packing reported it was more like $4 million with $2 million incentives. The Vikings came in with $6 million and $1 million incentives. You must remember Jones cap number for the 2014 season would have been about $17 million.

He was never collecting $17M in 2024. He knows that too.
I still love the guy and he'll be a Packer Hall of Famer
I love AJ and I don't blame him for leaving. Did he not already take 2 pay cuts before being asked to take less again? It's a tough business. He was a great packer and a great locker room guy as well. Just an all around great person. Wish he was still in Green and Gold.
Believe the injuries he suffered at the end of his time in GB played a pretty big role in the team's thinking.

I'm sure they did- along with his age.
I just get annoyed with these guys who sign with a hated division rival. Before you criticize me, there are players who say they just won't do that. I remember William
Henderson saying he had an offer from MN after his days in GB and he just wouldn't/couldn't do it. As recent as this year there was an article with Josh Jacobs saying he had a comparable offer from KC, and that he never considered it because they were a division rival of the Raiders.

"The Raiders' biggest rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs, tried to sign the 2022 rushing champ in free agency but he refused. “They were trying to get me hard,” Jacobs told The Athletic's Daniel Pompei. “But there was no way I was going there. I feel like once you are rivals with somebody, you have a genuine hate for them."
More power to these players maxing out their earning potential, it just pisses me off to the ones who go to the Vikings I have issues, I know.

Criticism incoming .... 😄
I don't believe he had any offers from any other team. Certainly not $7M.
He needed to give it time my friend. Patience is a virtue
It's always better one year too early than a year too late...
I can't fault a man for taking care of himself and his family.

No you don't. If Jacobs and Henderson could do it so could have Jones.
Jones could have finished his career with the Scottish Claymores, applied for dual citizenship, and had a pretty sweet passport going for himself in his retirement years.

Yep, hard to fault the decision so far. Jones has been really good in Minnesota but Jacobs has been just as good, maybe better. If not for his fumble on one TD run and two others called back for holding he would have even more amazing numbers.
Jones already missed some time in the Niners game. Speaking of durability, 65 touches in 3 games for Jacobs. Has any RB had that much usage under MLF as a head coach? Maybe Jones did in his late season run last year?
