Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is scheduled to appear on this week's episode of NBC-TV's "The Office."

Rodgers is to play a judge in a singing competition.

The episode is to air at 8 p.m. Thursday on WTMJ-TV (Channel 4) in the Milwaukee market.

In the last few years on his weekly radio show, Rodgers has expressed a desire to to host "Saturday Night Live" on NBC, but so far that invitation has not been extended.

Two seasons ago, Rodgers was a guest analyst when NBC had Super Bowl XLVI. Rodgers appeared on the network's pre-game show with former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward.

Rodgers has appeared in a number of television ads most notably for State Farm Insurance, Pizza Hut and Ford Trucks.

The Packers recently signed Rodgers to a $110 million contract extension, $54 million of which is guaranteed.

I was thinking more along the lines of Loudon Wainwright's "Fame and Wealth"

"fame and wealth is what I'm after. bucks and praise are what I crave. how I get 'em hardly matters. for these things I'll be your slave."

Why appear on a dead show that was a bad knockoff off a British show to begin with? It seems an odd choice.

Teh Office is still watched by millions of people every week. And getting a guy like Aaron Rodgers whose popularity is high right now will only boost ratings. I don't think he's appearing because he wants to try his hand at acting, they're probably paying him a good chunk of money to appear.

He looks like Oscar.

Dum dum.

Emmys are for television.

Oscars are for movies.

And I don't think he looks like Oscar neither.

No, I'm thinking the resemblance to writer BJ Novak (also played former office intern Ryan) is more accurate.

Very Peter Dinklage like from Game of Thrones.
